Really?
A guy who has won as many races and titles as he has cannot be compared to an Andrew Short or Kevin Windham. You want to compare him to someone in terms of expectations, then use examples like Reed, Carmichael and now Villipoto.
Dungey constantly gets bashed for not being aggressive, and lest you forget, people calling him gay not too long ago. Canard gets trashed for his religion. Carmichael has heard his fair share of boos, and Reed has been called every name in the book.

There is a thing called the "production" rule so JGR can not just invent their own frame to suit whatever handling characteristic Stewart wants. The production rule is a bit of a joke but I do not see how doing what you mention could ever be legal.
this was just a little background
i have never heard of the "production rule" but i guess that would make sense or you would have all kinds of different chopped up bikes scrambled together. so im not sure exactly what the factories can and cannot get away with. but ive also heard lots of rumor that dungeys frame is far from an oem ktm frame.
With the production rule you have to keep the stock frame dimensions, steering head angle, motor mount locations, swingarm pivot location, etc.
I see it as James being Lebron and the Yamaha being the Cavaliers. Suzuki being the Heat. Suzuki's bike is proven, and in James' head he thinks that offers him the best chance at winning.
The difference between James and Lebron is Lebron lived up to a contract he signed, James, not so much.
On a side note, is it out of the question to have James ride an older YZ, you know one with the engine facing the right direction?
Is it that they are incompetent like Larry and L&M were (according to some)? Or is it the bike?
Pit Row
i would be pissed if i threw down that huge of a commitment to a rider that didn't produce the goods.
they didn't sign him to be a 5th place rider.
just my .02
it's not in "quotes" anywhere but you know what i am talking about, yer the brains of this outfit after all.
Poor James.......I'll light a candle for him.
I really hope he gets his ducks in a row & back in the game - it's a much better race to watch when he's out there too. I'm not sure he can stand many more hits to the melon though.
I hope where ever he lands....he forgets the huge paycheck part of things ( since he's already loaded ) and gets on a bike that he feels comfortable with. I was one of the guys who thought " It wasn't the bike" ( Still kind of do ).....but the bottom line is "What James thinks".........and if it aint working for him , then he needs to do what he thinks is best for the rest of his career.
Stewart turned pro in 2002.....he has hit that magical # of 10 years in this sport. I hope we see him for a few more years , and we get to see him on a bike he loves.
