Deano started it, tomac finished. I got no problems with either riders actions during or after the race. I was and still am a fan of them both!

Now that is what you call a Tomac attack!

Super bummed for Dean, but I was thinking befor the contact the Deano shouldn't have started racing Eli that way. It ended pretty much the way I feared it would. I'm also a fan of both riders and I hope Dean is okay.

I think it was good racing but both crossed the line.

No question Wilson "Started it" but in my opinion Tomac went a little over board.

I like both guys, thought it was great racing, and jumped out of my seat when it happened I was so excited. I'm happy about the outcome. I think Dean had it coming, and I hope Tomac doesn't let another sx lites title slip through his fingers.

I think it's funny that a lot of people on the board think that Deanos block passes are similar to Tomacs Take-out.

If Dean wanted to take out Tomac he could of in either instance, but chose not to.

If you bend your shifter so bad that you get stuck in gear for the 4 or so laps, and almost cooked his cluch, it was over the top aggressive....just saying..

A quick check of your location reveals your bias.

It's always funny to see that when it's Barcia , Hanson and in this case Tomac , it's perfectly fine to take out someone out of retaliation or revenge . But dare a foreigh rider does it............... you guys start a war about it .
As far i as i saw it , Tomac didn't planned it , he just got to much traction and Wilson kept it WOT . Wilson's fault .
I think Wilson shoulda rode like that against Barcia .
I also find it very amusing to see Mr punt Hanson in the big boys class . I'm guessing Bambam won't be very different , except with better result ..
But i really liked Tomac's honesty when interviewed about the race incident . God i hate political correctness

Good thing about being canadian is that we have very good flame suits so flame on Pinch

Yep, excellent photos. Tomac cleaned him out. It's just racing.

Yes, that was great. Roostem' while they are down. Barcia needs to pick up a few pointers from Tomac on how to roost someone without being offensive and without roosting the medical crews who are out there to help the riders.

hmm, looks like Wilson may have front braked himself off balance and onto the ground after getting hit. Should have done what Shorty did to Roczen in the big mike main, checkup and cut a straight line to the next turn.

Somebody was in the right place at the right time. Nice pics. Cool

Eli definitely had the speed over Dean Saturday night. Dean chose to go for broke and try to intimidate Eli and it didn’t work. In a situation like that, the slower rider usually sets the tone for the level of aggression. Eli played it like the future champion he is and gave Dean the proper response.

I don’t blame Dean for making the choice he did, but he probably should have saved it for the last round, and not played that card with 3 to go. If he had accepted the fact that Eli was faster that night and finished right behind him he would still be leading the championship with two to rounds to go.

Agreed. When he started running it in on Eli I was thinking "Not only is he faster than you are with 13 laps left in this main, but you still have a few more rounds to race this guy. You might not want to start it this way."

Dean was playing rough but the move from Tomac was blatantly AND intentionally over the top IMO. He knew what he was doing and that was a race ending move.

Wilson should have expected it and backed off a little or banked left... I did say out loud "you deserved it you dick" but i reckon it was over the top, that could have ended up with broken bones or worse. I hope the season doesn't suffer for it.

i am a huge fan of both these lads and i want to see them push but i just think that was a step too far - kinda like the CR22 move on JS7 last year (Atlanta?) where he had no intention of bumping Stewart off course, just crashing straight into him - we wanna see them rough each other up but in a safe manner.

Photos prove that Wilson isn't as good at riding his front tire as Tomac was earlier in the race.

Good fun racing. Better than the snoozer 450 class.

Just read Open mic on racer x and it sounds like deano is being a bitch about it, like a joe. I know he may have lost the title now he has an injury but come on, Eli gave him chances like he said in the open mic, he let the first aggressive pass go but the second one was the one to push Tomac to that point. Eli rode him clean after the first pass and got shafted again, gave it back like a boss. love the Tomac podium interview though. That's how they should all be, a real race interview. Not a pure sponsor plug moment (Dungey etc.), granted they have to.

Damn. Just read the interview and I'm less of a Dean Wilson fan now.

"It just sucks, but, if that’s the way he wants to win a championship, then congrats to him." - Says the guy who started the race by taking Eli off the track twice.

"If he thinks I was riding dirty, it wasn’t dirty it was aggressive, like I said, this is a championship. But it’s fine, I believe in karma and I think he’ll get it." - So apparently it's just aggressive when Dean runs Eli off the track twice, but when Eli puts one block pass on Dean (which he could have absolutely avoided - see the AS/KR pass in the 450 main), it's dirty. Sorry Dean, but the pass that Eli put on you was YOUR karma coming back to YOU.

"I just saw an interview he did after the race. If I was in his shoes, I would at least wait to even see if I was all right. It’s tough racing, but an apology, or at least just come over and talk about it and be cool, but he just didn’t even want to be bothered." - And how exactly is that supposed to look? "Sorry I started playing the game you started Dean. Totally should have just let you run away with it."

I'm not mad at either rider, but I think theres a difference between block passing and take outs. If Dean wanted to ride dirty he would have actually gone for Elis front wheel. It would be karma if Dean actually took him out and Eli came back and did it back, but thats not what happened. I don't see why anyone would ever have karma coming to them over a blocl pass where noone went down. Eli definitely went for Deans front wheel and now has some actually karma coming to him.

You save that stuff for the last lap so there is no chance of retaliation. But either way glad Tomac gave Dino a taste of his own medicine. Dino took it like a man. I was bummed when Tomac dnfed and am glad he got back into the lead. Now he has to hold on to it. Tomac's speed has picked up. I wonder how well he would do against Barcia. I guess we will see in the outdoors.

That will be fun to watch but much of it will depend on the hole shot and it is only one race. I am looking forward to seeing. Wilson, Bagget, Tomac, (I hope Barcia is there) Roczen, Musquin and a whole host fo 250 riders in the outdoors. The talent is deep.

I think the 450 will be the RV show with RD help to add some excitement everyonce in a while. Hope I am wrong and someone else steps up to win a few.

I watched the replay at least half a dozen times. Eli did the exact same block pass that Dean did the first time he passed Eli. The same pass that Kenny put on Andrew in the 450's, and I'm sure was used many other times. This was a line that had been used throughout the race.

Dean had a choice:
- Check up and live to see the next corner (like Eli did when Dean passed him there)
- Square the corner up and fly right behind Eli and beat him next to the corner
- Pin it and hope Eli moves

Obviously Wilson opted for door number 3 and found himself on the ground. Eli didn't do anything different than what Dean had done to him just laps before - the difference was that Eli saw it coming and decided to get him later in the race, and Dean just went full steam ahead into Eli.

that was not the same pass dean put on eli. deans pass ran him high on the berm. elis pass cut across and ran straight into dean.

Eli's move just didn't seem as intentional as all of Dean's. It appeared Eli got a little loose in that corner, thus forcing him wider than he had intended.

I gotta go with Eli on this one. It was good to see he didn't just take Dean's shit. It sucks he bent his shifer though. Would have been better to see him chase down Sipes.

IMO, that interview with Dean doesn't bode well. I hope his team doesn't support his view on the event. The kid needs to downsize his helmet, race with his talent and not his attitude.

If Eli ran straight into Dean, how do you explain this shot of Dean running into Eli?

Photobucket

This is pretty well out of the corner, too. It's not like Eli made a straight line to Dean's front wheel. Eli took the line, and Dean ran straight into him.

he cut across. even emig says it in the broadcast. going into that corner eli was on the inside and dean was on the outside. eli cut across the track into deans line.
