Everything Renner has done to this point has been a amazing story and a total breath of fresh air to what is the bottomless money pit of AMA "competition".

The AMA, MXsports, FIM and most importantly their friends with the heavy wallets have driven racing to a point of no return. We have a rule book that favors the large teams and has successfully eliminated the Ricky Ryans of our sport. This is not necessarily a debate of 2 stroke versus 4 stroke... This is an exhibition of the once proud days when racing was more affordable and thus allowed for closer competition. This is a reminder that racing can be had without the bottomless money of OEM backing.
Not supporting ricky would be signing away the success of future racers based on their ability to "pay the bill". Factory transmissions, and unobtanium parts should not be allowed. There is always going to be better bikes than others. But the AMA has made the difference between the average bike and the factory bikes much greater; by increasing the cost as a whole.

Ricky Renner has spoken for the average rider. He may not have known it when he started this campaign, but there are thousand of everyday racers that are cheering for him today.
Very well said, my good man, here, here. And hear, hear.

Also, whatever it makes me, the sound of a true 125 class start really is music. Watching (or riding!) a full size bike that weighs so little and has 7 1/2 cubic inches of displacement and really goes godawful fast is just amazing. How well would a 7 1/2 cubic inch four stroke do? I don't think anyone (even the 4T worshipers) wants to answer that question.

The lawnmower sound does nothing for me. Have been completely disinterested in supercross for years. This New Orleans race? I am glued to the status. I am not alone. The sponsors might or might not take notice.
Right on...

I don't want to date myself but when I was a kid all of the top local guys would give the local rounds a shot. Some guys even made the show and stoked the whole local racing community. That was cool and that was what the 125 class was all about. Maybe I don't follow it as closely but it just doesn't seem the same.

Renner currently 11th in qualifying #2. Just put down a 59 second lap.

Checkered flags out. He placed 11th in qualifying rounds A and B.

59.160

The top Lites guys were running mid to high 54s in the first practice.

There's a good chance he may not make the top 40... Sad

Actually that time puts him in if I am correct. He ends up with the 38th or 39th position and they take the top 40 fastest. I could be wrong?
4/14/2012 2:18pm
He's gonna average about 1:00 a lap.. handful of other lites guys who are in that range or slower.. gonna be down to the wire.

Is it an average or the single fastest lap time from the 2 practices?

Of both qualifiers, or do they average the fastest lap of both?

C has already gone and there were 10 faster, he was 11th fastest in B and all 18 in A were faster. So that would put him in at 39th?

Spot on. The 250 class( I hate lites) should be a true entry level class. If not then get rid of east west make it a true series and bring back a 125 class east west. If you live east of the Mississippi you can ride east. If you are west you ride west.
