Just to put my two cents in on the whole situation I have to say I'm really sad that we are getting tore down before a race by the ama. For anyone tht doesn't know im Ricky's soon to be wife and he always tries to get me to ride 125's. He loves the things! I'm happy with my kawi 250f but he still tries. Racing Daytona was supposed to be for fun, to be able to go out and race a pro race on an ole 125! Everyone was pretty stoked and we got way more people excited and involve than we ever expected. Then came some people that were fired up about him cheating and he openly spoke out and said what he felt he should to be honest. Truth is it shouldn't matter what was said or what happened at Daytona because that race is over and were in NOLA now. Truth is they have made a decision to tear him down and there's nothing we can do about it. We can however take whatever comes our way and over come it. Were doing it for the love of the sport and for the love of 2 strokes. We're not trying to fight the AMA. If we happen to make a statement in the process well everyone will have their opinions but in the end it's just always all about the racing!
Well, no matter what happens this weekend I hope you guys have a great weekend and Ricky gets that 125 in the big show.

This proves something right here.

I think all of us, the AMA and Renner know his ride this weekend will have no effect on the championship or even result in a podium.

It is one thing to handicap the lighter faster machine as they have done, but a whole other thing to also stack all the rules against them (fuel, homologlation, weight, contracts, marketing, support), then continue to bully every last one to total elimination on top of it?

So what is it the big 4 are so scared of that they have to try and squash anything 2 stroke even at the fun level? Are they really that intimidated that they had to legitimize him or his little 125 as a threat by even acknowledging he was there let alone CHECK his bike!?

Thanks AMA and big 4 for raising Project Renner to the next level!

This just gets better by the minute! Loving this whole thing. Donations well spent I say.
unless he knocks the leader down on the last lap?

Hey, wait till/if he get's on the track.
Talk about having a target on yer back.
What rider, team mechanic or factory is gonna be happy
with getting waxed by a 125?

And as far as the AMA putting anything back together after an "inspection", that would be a first.
They don't build anything, just tear down.
Kinda sucks they mess with him on race day, not fair imo.
I guess it was too much to ask for a guy to look at it last night.

Funny how concerned they really are.
But Renner has to expect it, he kinda slapped them, AMA Tech that is, with the 144 talk.
Admit it, any of you guys that had their credentials at work put in question would be pissed also.

That being said.........effin GO RENNER!!

I think you read to much into it.
Oh yes the AMA is so freaking thin skinned they can't take a freaking joke from a "guy who shows up at random races" what is it about him and his overpowered 125 that is so threatening? They took the bait because they are idiots.

Thats fucking pathetic and I am surprised at your comment. Renner is great for shaking things up! He is shining a huge light on the hypocracy that is pro racing and the AMA. They fuck the little guy and lick the boots of those with money.

First thing, I remember admitting to racing a 144, don't recall bragging or calling anyone at AMA stupid or dumb for letting it happen.
Second, I did expect a protest, what I was not happy about was the fact that they were taking apart a bike that not 1 person at the track has a part for.. Really no gaskets just incase something happened.

End result, I am glad that AMA stepped up and are taking a bike apart based on a "gut feeling" hopefully it will happen more.

My cylinder and head has been tagged for an after race inspection. All fair. Now let's race!!

That's fair on their part. It would've been complete BS to tear you down before the race, but after is legit. Good luck!

500guy, you must be just poking fun at this thread and trying to get the 2 strokers upset. If not, you usually do better. You sound like a complete d-bag with your responses. Does the AMA really take everything said on Vital as reliable info and follow up on it at the next race? If so, sad sad sad. Maybe 4 bangers are here to stay but c'mon, you know that Supercross and Motocross has taken a step back with 4 strokes as far as excitement, intensity, the overall experience when new comers witness a race. There is nothing like hearing and seeing 40 perfectly tuned 125s leaving the gate at a national and watching the body langauge of the best riders in the world trying to squeeze every ounce of HP out of the motor to clear a triple. Now we just watch the last place rider make a mistake on the jump or corner before the triple and just blip the throttle to clear it. Plus we get to hear lawnmowers run for hours. Not like it used to be, all because of some rule that turned out to be a mistake for the sport.

Everything Renner has done to this point has been a amazing story and a total breath of fresh air to what is the bottomless money pit of AMA "competition".

The AMA, MXsports, FIM and most importantly their friends with the heavy wallets have driven racing to a point of no return. We have a rule book that favors the large teams and has successfully eliminated the Ricky Ryans of our sport. This is not necessarily a debate of 2 stroke versus 4 stroke... This is an exhibition of the once proud days when racing was more affordable and thus allowed for closer competition. This is a reminder that racing can be had without the bottomless money of OEM backing.
Not supporting ricky would be signing away the success of future racers based on their ability to "pay the bill". Factory transmissions, and unobtanium parts should not be allowed. There is always going to be better bikes than others. But the AMA has made the difference between the average bike and the factory bikes much greater; by increasing the cost as a whole.

Ricky Renner has spoken for the average rider. He may not have known it when he started this campaign, but there are thousand of everyday racers that are cheering for him today.

In my 3 years and 5 months of being associated with this wacky hobby, no one has ever reeked quite so MOTOCROSSEY

as Ricky Renner currently is doing. He's having fun, he's making a statement and he's just simply a terrific asset to the

spirit of our sport. God bless you, RICKY RENNER. And rock on, regardless.

You sir, are MOTOCROSS.

+1 on all of that.

Also, whatever it makes me, the sound of a true 125 class start really is music. Watching (or riding!) a full size bike that weighs so little and has 7 1/2 cubic inches of displacement and really goes godawful fast is just amazing. How well would a 7 1/2 cubic inch four stroke do? I don't think anyone (even the 4T worshipers) wants to answer that question.

The lawnmower sound does nothing for me. Have been completely disinterested in supercross for years. This New Orleans race? I am glued to the status. I am not alone. The sponsors might or might not take notice.
