I'm just curious, I feel like they would have some excuse that the bike can't be torn down till after an event, but they told me that I have to do it before or I can't race. Just doesn't seem right that they can take my bike apart before practice even starts. Now tomorrow morning I have to take my bike to AMA, let them take it apart and measure whatever they want because they suspect it's not legal, put it together then tech my bike.. Hopefully it goes smoothly.. The good new is, when it's legal, I don't even get any protest $$!!! Prolly not even an apology haha

You wouldn't see them do this to any factory team, regardless of what they say or others say about them...

It's more of an incompetent AMA trying to prove another point by harassing a privateer in my opinion.

Enforce for some but not others.

So a guy who shows up at a few Random races and taunts the officials can not expect some backlash ?

I think you read to much into it.

It's just a shame that kid shows up at a Supercross race with a 2 stroke for the fans and gets torn down. Also no mention of this on Racer x either. It's a great story and alot of people are excited about him racing.......Why not cover the story.....

Nico Izzi was blatant with his 250f last year and they never did anything.

Robot870: Good post, I completely agree.

I normally try not to get to involved in the cc debate. I ride a fourstroke and am proud of it! But just like alot of guys, I love the sound and smell of a 2 stroke! And on occasion, enjoy ripping a 125.

I do think that Ricky taunted the AMA a little bit after the last race, which I understand why and I think what he is doing is awesome!

RacerX of all magazine should be giving Ricky a little love considering how crazy alot of Vital members are about two strokes, just my opinion.

I beg to differ, just watch how many good people stop by Renner's pits to wish him well and support him with money. Smile

It would be stupid from AMA not to check the bike, because rider has openly told that he cheated earlier. That would send message that rules doesn't matter. I just can't believe how the two stroke fanatics can be so stupid.
Yes, it would be totally out of character for the AMA to send a message that the rules don't matter.

New to the sport, eh?

Measuring a 2 stroke is as easy as taking the exhaust pipe off and measuring. Why are they even making you tear it down, is the question? It's not like it's an oval cylinder. Front to back is same as side to side. Measure it through the pipe hole.

The real ironic thing is that we actually have a rider giving us a truthful first hand account.
I for one appreciate the underground, roots effort Ricky is doing, on and off the track.

Save the good motor until after practice anyway.

They may have had reason for suspicion but what about all of the factory bikes that also don't comply with the rules?

How similar to the homologated model do you suppose the chassis on JS 7 bike is?

True. Nobody gave 2 shits about an outdated 2 stroke. They gave 39,000 shits. That’s only Renner views Daytona week this forum only.

How many views for JS threads that same week you ask? Less than half that and even fewer for CR and RD. With RV and Alessi added in there, they all together barely beat Renner for total shits.

That my friends, is exactly what the Pig 4 are afraid of. Imagine all the shits if he were on a modern 2 stroke.

Have you ever been in charge of making the rules for anything at any point in your life? After you have you tend to not care about following any of them anymore. You realize the ridiculousness of their nature and most often they truly only apply to 1% of people who don't want to think for themselves. When you come to this realization you start to think for yourself and make intelligent decisions based on common sense.

I don't know what I'm more excited about. A privateer getting some help from the fans or watching a 125 throw down. I'll send a donation when I get home tomorrow. Good luck.

Selective enforcement, why don't they do something about works transmissions and chassis? Everyone knows they're non compliant.

A $17,500.00 crankshaft and a Formula One gearbox isn't compliant in the up and coming regional supercross class?

Pressure from the "four stroke facists" no doubt.

You have to read the exceptions, as long as the rider is capable of winning, it's good to go.

Rules are for the guys that would never really see much benefit in breaking them.

It's amusing that the handful of guys capable of using every advantage can do what they want and even have magazines describe the illegal parts and how they get away with it.

I'm waiting on them to ok big bore for the KTM 350 without having to make enough to sell to the rest of us, if it hasn't already happened.

I'm not into the two stroke vs four stroke debate, I like my bike and that's all that matters to me however it would be cool to see Ricky do well on a 125 But, I think its a waste of money to tare down one of the big teams bikes. They have so much money in R&D in those motors that they don't need more then the 250CC's. I would put money on it that the head alone on A Geico bike cost more then the whole motor on Ricky's 125.

If you guy's think the AMA is wrong about this you should see what the NHRA is doing in pro stock bike racing. Look into it and you will be amazed that they are getting away with what they are doing.allowing one team (sponsor of the class) to run a 4 valve head but nobody else can run it and they cant buy the one that the V&H team is running. NHRA is a joke.

I swear, not directed at Renner but this 2 stroke deal brings out the crazy.
Are you kidding ,so the correct thing is to go on hearsay?

So and so said this on a forum = tear down the bike
someone in the pits mentioned this = tear down the bike

bottom line, them tearing down the bike with no protest was gay

Obviously, it's not fair to cheat, but if there's a guy who can stand up and fight with a 2 stroke (albeit a 144cc) there isn't a horsepower advantage, isn't there? Smile

Come on guy, calling the AMA "gay" is pretty weak and insensitive.

I believe homos is the appropriate insult this case .
