This. Although, I'm glad, for the health of Vital, that RV beat everyone straight up last year... haha.

Really?
To finish first, one must finish.
Villopoto straight up kicked everyone's ass. He can't help it if they can't finish what they started.

The only asterick is the one Guy B pointed out earlier. RV was killing everyone else before any of them got hurt.

This is more like it.. RV one not taking anything away.. But the other riders hurt themselves trying to go his pace.

I don't think that the pace this year was elevated from the last few years. Canard didn't go out by trying to run RV's pace, Dungey got hurt during practice, Reed was comfortable at the lead pace. These are guy's that have been at the front of the pack for the majority of thier careers. Look at how close the points were before the injuries started snowballing, 4 pts, then 10 pts. It's not like they were all in panic mode. RV knows what it's like to give up a championship chase due to an accident, I'm sure he feels redemption from '09 where even if he may have not won he would have fought until the end.
All of these injuries make me wish that the Texas National was at the end of the year when some of the hurt dudes might be making it back.

The year that Villopoto's dominance really started. I think we'll be looking back over many many more Villopoto championships.
