Thats awesome. A professional racer who is an adult man still has to have his daddy fight his battles. This is why Alessis are hated on so much. You dont see anyone, or anyone elses DAD calling an independent blogger to try and plead their case and win him over. BRO hates on a lot of people, and of course Tony would take it personal and go out of his way to confront him, which if he had and common sense would know that is only going to fuel his fire.

Bro shriveled up like a little wee wee in 34 degree water. What a little bitch.

So, he didn`t really " make it". Bummer. Most pathetic thing here is Tony calling a blogger and trying to explain himself.

tony kinda reminds me of tom cruise in the way he's really nice to people but kinda too nice like he's trying to prove to people that he's nice so it's really intense and not believable... that said I've never talked to him so i don't really know

Also if anyone has dealt with a passive aggressive bully they'll know they are not easy to handle

How old is Tony?
How old is Mike?
How old is Eli?

I don't see what the big deal is... Three Dog Night made Eli famous before Eli was Brotocross...

Eli's comin'
Eli's comin' (Eli's a-comin')
Well you better hide your heart, your loving heart
Eli's a-comin' and the cards say... a broken heart

Eli's comin', hide your heart, girl
Eli's comin', hide your heart, girl
Girl, Eli's a-comin', you better hide
Girl, Eli's a-comin', you better hide
Girl, Eli's a-comin', you better hide
Girl, Eli's comin', hide your heart, girl (hide it)
You better, better hide your heart
Eli's comin', better walk

Walk but you'll never get away
No, you'll never get away from the burnin' a-heartache
I walked to Apollo by the bay
Everywhere I go though, Eli's a-comin' (she walked but she never got
away)
Eli's a-comin' (she walked but she never got away)
Eli's a-comin' and he's comin' to git ya (she walked but... she walked
but...)
Get down on your knees (she walked but she never got away)

Eli's comin' (hide it, hide it, hide it)
Girl, Eli's a-comin', you better hide

I do love how Tony said they are doing better than ever in SX with stuff we can buy. Ya, Jeff rolling the track for 17 of 20 laps is a major improvement. But then again, he is Mr. Irrelevant so he must of been speaking about Mike. He is 9th in pts and the only rider behind him who has made every main is Chisolm. And we can't count the bone head moves on the track on both hands.

Is Howard Stern in the media? Is TMZ?

I would say so. Maybe Im wrong.

Brotocross never claimed to be a "journalist" or a traditional news source. But he has routinely had the info that other sources dont.

Out of curiosity, what qualifies one to "be in the media" in this sport for that matter?

(oh, and for the record, my comments in my last two paragraphs about hell freezing over in the post you quoted were not directed at you. I should have been more clear)

Stern and TMZ are in the media by virtue of their huge audiences. If Stern was talking to 50 people he would not be in the media, but he's talking to millions every day.
Brotocross doesn't have that, but maybe relative to the microcosm of motocross he is huge.

Is there a difference between what Broto does compared to Racer X, TW, and Guy B? I think there is. But you raise an interesting point- what is the dividing line, and does it matter? Journalism is like the legal definition of porn- the lines are blurry, but you know it when you see it.

But generally I would say that being a real journalist requires some type of credential or training, some type of experience writing for a wide audience, a legitimate organization or professional business supporting you, and drawing income of some type of income from your writing.

Incidentally, has be come up with a bunch of scoops? I thought he was just funny. But i haven't read all his stuff.
Ive written for large newspapers and magazines with worldwide publication and Ive never had any formal credentials, education, or training in the field. Was I not part of the media?

Going to law school doesnt make one a lawyer. Going to journalism school doesnt necessarily make one a journalist.

Of course there is a difference between what Racer X, TW, and Guy B do compared to Brotocross, in fact, neither of those three that you mentioned do the same thing. But they are all part of the sports media.

And yeah, Brotocross has broken a story or two. But his real gems are the small quips he has when dishing dirt on a rider. For most people, I imagine they wont catch the joke or reference, but for those in the know there is actually a lot of truth hidden in his blog that a savvy fan would decipher. It's TMZ shit, but regardless, its stuff that the rest of the industry would never comment on. And maybe thats all his site is, "commentary"....but isnt that what Bill Simmons does on Grantland.com? Its just commentarty. And nobody is going to say that Simmons is not part of the media. Brotocross is is a cross between Howard Stern and Grantland within this sport IMO.

For those wondering why Matthes wasnt too nice to him on Pulp......its because he's everything that Matthes wishes he could be. Except that riders & mechanics generally dont like or respect Matthes (see some of Stroupes comments for a small example) because with Matthes, the motivation behind some of his smart remarks is from a different place. On the other hand, riders respect Brotocross even when he's bashing them (sans the Alessis) because unlike most this industry, his agenda (humor) is genuine and unfiltered.

The kids got writing talent and he has good sources for his info and (as evidence by the posting of that condemning phone conversation) he puts it all out there. I dont think he ever had any intention of settling his beef with the Alessi's (the beef is a staple of his product) and I dont think he really cares if people know who he is (he is smart enough to have kept it hidden if he reeeeally wanted too). It's all part of his schtick.

IMO, this whole incident has nothing to do with Tony Alessi. We all know these forums hate TA just as much as ever (Im a fan of TA and his boys BTW), this is more a case of a bunch of computards just rat packing on Brotocross in the same fashion that they all jumped all over Sondra a while back. The vitrol in these threads has nothing to do with the incident, it has to do with a bunch of talentless jealous haters just trying to kick a person while he's down. It happens to Bubba on the daily here. It happened to Sondra. And right now, the mob is just finally taking their long awaited shots at Eli Moore. But unlike TA, I highly doubt Brotocross is going to give a fuck or change his tune.

And people need to lay off of TA for fighting Mike's battles. He is Mike's personal manager. He's supposed to handle this shit for him. You'd do the same if he was your kid and/or client. Tony handled this situation in the best possible fashion one could have. Doesnt mean he isnt "trying too hard" but I dont fault Tony for trying. It's who he is. That phone call couldve gone a lot worse.

Oh, and FYI, Jason43, the whole 2012 incident thing doesnt happen til this December. It's supposed to be a slow buildup of crazy events. Lots of earthquakes (check), Milsaps out performing Bubba (check), and now... the forums coming to Tony Alessi's aid (check) are just more signs of the apocalypse hahahahahaha.

Yep. Stated way more eloquently than I could have. I read Brotocross because it's funny and somewhat insightful. It's a parody/satire site with some real news thrown in, written by somebody who does a very good job at what they intended to do.

What kills me is how Tony says "we" all the time like he is riding the bike!

That, among many other reasons, is why I don't care much for Tony.

Calling Eli is another.

Doubt you would ever hear that Roger D had called Eli!

Was actually referencing the crazy old many from last year (Harold Camping) that was claiming the world was going to end on October 21, 2011.

But you're right, things are starting to pick up some steam with the Milsaps thing and now this incident with Eli Moore. Which by the way I've got nothing against this guy and hope he can continue to do what he does best. I personally don't go to his site much but have gotten some enjoyment from some of the things he's written.

FYI there is a remake of Total Recall coming out. This has to be another sign right?

I may be in the minority here but I think that this remake of Total Recall is blasphemous.

All Hollywood does these days is make movies of tv shows, popular kids books, or remakes/sequels of already tried and true franchises (often ruining them in the process).

I loved the original Total Recall. I think they will fuck this up. They did with Total Recalls sequel (Minority Report).

Arnold and his cheesy lines made that movie. I will probably go see 21 Jump Street though. And I did not know that Minority Report was a sequel.

Interesting.

I might see Jumpstreet. I dunno. Again, another case of Hollywood bean counters being creatively bankrupt.

They'll never recreate what the original Jumpstreet was. All they are doing now is borrowing a name. They (the show and now movie) arent even relevant to each other. Pathetic.
