.......wear them around the house for a while? Laughing

I just got a new pair of AStars today, and as usual, stomped around the house a bit! Damn, are they pretty!

My wife usually gives me a Whistling look!

Getting SOOOO anxious to ride!

I used to put them in the tub and let them soak for a bit. Slosh around out side then let them dry. After that they feel like a yr old. Boots have come along way since then so no need to anymore.

I bought my last pair of Astars in 2006, and have used them since, but last fall I blew a big hole in the right side ( kickstart ) boot.
Time for a new pair anyway!

Not trying to hi jack here but do you guys know which boot brand has more give/mobility in the ankle area? I have a bad left ankle and have limited movement which makes it hard to shift. I have Alpinestars right now and even though they are broke in its still a stiff boot.

The new SG12's work well around the ankles and so do the SiDi Crossfires.

In bed with the wife & my NE Patriots PJs on :-) Someone was asking about free movement in the ankle area. These boots are so light & perhaps the lightest Ive ever owned. They're are without a doubt the most comfortable boot that Ive ever owned. They have tons of movement right out of the box that I wouldn't be afraid to race in these boots right out of the box.

I recently switched to half boots and knee braces for the same reason. Talk about improvement ill never wear full boots again. I was worried about putting a foot down at first but if anything its so much easier to get the foot out there quickly and with some power i actually feel that putting a foot down when the front end try's to go is in fact a strong point for the little boots. A stars makes a very nice set and they are half the price of a full setup. Also if u havent ever tried knee braces you might really dig the extra grip they allow with your legs. There are many new types of knee guards with a semi brace setup an they stay put so much better than shin guards (and once again are rather inexpensive).

Boot related - an old vet rider buddy noted that he buys boots based on their weight. He has , according to him - been

flying thru the air too many times, propelled by his heavy boots - and has had occasion and clarity - to determine

he'd like lighter boots. Food for thought.

Yep, no 'break in' needed and feels like regular shoes. I honestly cant figure out how Astars even stays in business with those clunky ski-boots they sell.

If I spent $600 on boots I would wear them to church. True story.

its a urban figure of speech mang....that i orally defecated
those fox boots are piiiiiimp! im curious to see how well they hold up, dad always said if the shoe doesnt have a stitched sole its not going to last. I know astar offers free repair or glueing for seperated soles but why buy a boot that has a repair warranty? check back in after 10 rides if you dont mind Digger

Thats the quest I'm on now.... Feel it affects me quite a bit too, bought/sold/returned over half a dozen pairs already... Tech 10's while comfy inside, weighed damn near 11 pounds total in my size

That's the exact same explanation I've given after buying my SG12's last year, and the same responses as well ha ha ha. I LOVE my Gaerne's!
