Were you watching the same broadcast as me? They showed Gibson a few times and his name was mentioned. Not bad considering the depth of the field.

Only because he got a top 5 start. they couldnt help but notice. they made such a display of Bowers being there. it just struck me as odd since he was putting in better results most of the day.

um...i thought they covered gibson pretty good. I mean Ricky even went into how long he's been at it...and former champ stuff.

not their fault that bowers tanked out of the first qualifier and then took it to the last lap to make the main. thats a good way to get camera time tho.

Like the 2nd post said, Bowers is a Monster Energy Kawi rider who won the Monster Energy sponsored AX series and is now racing the Monster Energy Supercross on a broadcast partly funded by Monster. Excess face time for Bowers is par for the course.

Great to see Gibson riding so good! Even in the main he rode really well and had a great start.

What happened at the end of the race? I thought he was headed for a top 10 finish, then looking at the results he was like 15th? Either way, he rode great.

He fell over near the whoops late in the race, but looked great all day.
There were a buch of arenacrossers there, but Gibby looked the most comfortable.
I bet TB911 will pick it up soon though.
Reed asked why Bowers was on a 250 on his Twitter.
It's his championship bike and he wanted to stick with it.

Yea, for those who don't follow AX the series dropped back down to 250Fs again, so Bowers has not been on a 450 all season. He wanted to race what he was most comfortable with. That's why all the AX guys raced the Lites class.

Jeff Gibson was usually a contender for top 10 when he raced SX before going to Arenacross. I wasn't following the sport for a couple years but I don't think Bowers has a whole lot of SX experience. I'm sure the added hype made it a little tougher for Bowers as well. Hopefully they both do well in the future rounds, it would be cool to get to the point where the Arenacross Series truly does become a breeding ground for SX racers.

Bowers rode for YoT in 2008 in the Lites class and for MotoConcept in 2009 on a 450 full time and did most mains... Broke his legs while leading AX in 2010, then won AX titles in '11 and '12.

He was moving up and had decent lap times in the main before he literally hit the wall.

RC commented on how Gibson has been racing for a long time and how he himself has even raced against him. I thought gibson rode a hell of a race and showed me more than the EX champ did.

Cory Green moved up and raced the 450 class.
