what a bunch of fucking idiots are on this board. cry baby douche bags.
You're not still a little butt hurt because I went off about the MDdos site are you? I already told you I didn't lump you ( and most everyone else on that site ) into the group I was referring to.
So now what? Am I still making you nervous because I have a point of view on this RV situation? I don't get it.
We gonna run into each other again up at Mtn View again this year?? I guess she is opening up here again real soon......got my boots on waiting for opening day if the weather is good!
If they want to say he could not slow down then extend the reds to the corner that they commit from. Either way AMA fails again.
Thought so.
here are the real questions.
Does the person who controls the lights also control the flaggers? Do all flaggers have radio contact with that person in charge?
Which is more important? flagger or lights?
Where are the flaggers found to do these events? ( I know the answer but this one is really something interesting)
IF in the corner you have yellow flag, and yellow lights, then 20-30 feet away after a rider has to commit to a jump the jump take off has red? ANyone that races or rides knows trying to stop like that is and endo waiting to happen.
We do stadium racing, and have for over 20 years, on the amatuer level of course. THe one thing that is tuff to do with this type of racing is flagging something quickly. Riders jump so close to each other and there is no room for a mistake. Outdoor is alot more spread out.
Now people talking about "butt hurt" from the internet would make me a lot more nervous if they were closer to my local area.
Pit Row
With their analogy the cops are judge jury and executioner.
It's comical.
But I'm enjoying the lol's.
BTW, motorcycles and cars are both motorized vehicles with lethal capabilities, so my analogy is totally accurate. RV2, who I'm a big fan of, ignored 3 warnings, displaying total lack of concern for another riders safety, and the rules of the game he plays. I have been racing for 30 years and know 3 riders who are now "6 feet under" from somebody landing on them when they were down on the other side of a blind jump, some situations were not avoidable, some were pure freaking bullshit and total lack of respect for the rules and other peoples safety.
The AMA needs to step up, clearly define the penalties, and then act on them, regardless of who committed the violation.
Think about it logically and exercise some common sense here.
And as I already stated in this thread,it depends on the position of the vehicle before the light turned red.
See my post on page 7 in this thread for a better understanding of how the system works with cases like that.
As for riders getting landed on and riders not obeying flags....
What is the shut off point?
10inches? 2 feet? 10feet? 40 feet?
The rider has to be signaled within a reasonable amount of time to know when to slow or obey the flags.
That is the argument here.
When exactly did he see and notice the red lights?
That is what you would have to prove in court, that he saw them and knowingly went and jumped it anyway with zero disregard for the downed riders safety. It's a tough one...especially with the way they had that section setup and how he was committed to the single and had to carry momentum through that corner before he seen the lights.
1. Yellow Flag Or Yellow Light: Waving Yellow Flag or Yellow Flashing Lights: Indicates serious hazard on or near the track. • Passing is allowed • Proceed with extreme caution.
Red Flashing Light:
Red Flashing Light: A red flashing light may be displayed at the beginning of a triple jump or a series of jumps. Riders must roll each jump individually with no passing and exercise extreme caution until they are past the area of concern.
So, in race conditions, and at race speeds, if you're going to show a guy a yellow, and you don't specifically define him to roll jumps, then he's not required to do so. He can still consider himself "proceeding with extreme caution".
And, if you're going to put the fucking red lights at the top of a jump that's pretty much immediately out of a corner, put those red flashing lights in the corner itself so the guy has time to slow down.
The AMA's rule definition and implementation contributed to this mass confusion. Luckily nobody got hurt. Hopefully they learn from this, train their personnel to err on the side of safety, and get the proper information to the racer sooner than later.
