I am still cheering for Reed. But my other guy is Windham no doubt.

I feel the same about Alessi.

First choice would have been Canard, when he went down it was Reed, now I guess it's Dungey. If this was four or five years ago I would have said Windham, but he's not a realistic title contender anymore.

Hoping for an injury free remainder of the season, and racing at the front.
I would like to RD and JS get it going and challenge RV and then take it outdoors, too.

yeah, i don't see Kawi letting him go, RV is on top and isn't going anywhere.

I know you're going to tell me to STFU, but I never would've thought Kawi would've let Stewart go. He rode KX's his whole life (except for 50's). Anyways, my point is there's always someone right around the corner who is going to take someone else's spot.

I'd like to see Stewart and Dungey get a fire lit under them and go make it a fight for the title. Right now RV1 just looks unstoppable. What I'd like to see (I believe someone else mentioned it on here) is that Weimer finds that little bit extra and mixes it up w/ the three mentioned above for those race wins, if for anything else just to make the racing more exciting this year.

thats true. didnt jeff ward ride his whole career on green. like matthes said in rvs pulp interview the other day thats about the only option. suzukis broke, ktm and yamaha are full which leaves honda and chad has a bad ass team. rv would put them right into title contention should chad choose to retire.

not going to tell you to STFU. it's a valid point.

my only argument is that Kawi wanted RV when he was moving off the 250 and let go (didn't put the offer to) of JS so that they could have RV.

i'm sure there could be more arguments stemming from that, but it's how I see it. they saw RV coming and knew that he was the future for Kawasaki, not JS. maybe i'm wrong, but that's my .02

That's what I thought Kawi was doing also...........and the fact that James only raced half the year after getting off 125's
I guess some decisions pay off and some other's don't (ie One Industries signing RD5 and then turning around and hiring JLaw).
I wonder what Kawi signed RV2 for $$$ vs. what they were paying James the year before. I bet it was quite a difference...

Ryan is making $800k base, and I would venture to say that James was making at least $1M.

And I don't think Kawi is willing to part with Ryan until Adam Cianciarulo is ready to step up to 450's, which is probably 5 years out.

EDIT: According to MXA, James made $2.2M his last year at Kawi.

And I thought I heard that what they are paying RV is less that half of what James wanted to resign. I have no source on that btw, just remember hearing it somewhere. IMO the main part of Kawi going for RV, besides the money, was the fact that he was so dominant in the 250's, which probably validated their gamble of going for the cheaper guy (between he and JS). Currently in the 250's there is not anyone that has been like RV was, partially because the talent field is deeper. I wonder though if Kawi will resign Weimer, or pick up Wilson or Baggett.

As much as I like Weimer, if they were smart, they'd go after Wilson. I think that's why Kawi has never really had a problem with letting the big names leave, because they always have another talented young rider in the wings with their farm system. From Team Green as amateurs, to PC on 250s, to the factory squad on 450s.

And off course K-Dub, everybody's cheering for him!
