I posted this in another thread, but I think it deserves its own thread.
This kid has consistently made mains (yes Im counting Dallas as making a main) as a privateer in the toughest field ever. Before the injuries started piling up, he was the ONLY privateer to make mains and there were some team riders who he was actually bumping from the main.
It'd be a great story for one of these teams to give him a fill-in ride after last weekends fallout.

I'm sorry, but after reading his RacerX Privateer Profile interview, I don't think that kid deserves a fucking thing unless he pays for it himself. He comes off as being one ungrateful little bastard. He's probably a really nice kid, but he sure came off wrong in this interview.

Flame away, fuckers.
I'm thinking of instituting a minimum IQ level for posting here. You may want to work on your posts. Right now you're well below the minimum on the common sense side.
Care to explain what about that interview would make you think that?
I don't think he deserves a factory ride though. Then again, there's not many options out there
We aren't talkng about a vet racer thinking he should be compensated for his local district domination.
Gee, that's it? Shame on Rock River.
I’m trying to find someone to buy me a bike He did say right after that that he'd get one if nobody else bought one.
Buy one yourself.
I feel like I deserve to have someone to help me out, I don’t need a salary, I just want to get expenses paid.
Uh, Rock River was helping him out. Providing a bike, taking it to the races, and food at the races all add up to someone helping him out. What else does he want from them, maybe pay his cell phone bill?
Like I said, he's probably a really nice kid, but this interview really rubs me wrong. It seems he should have worded things much different than he did.
And of course Honda wants someone better than just a guy who makes mains. But he's doing it on equipment that is not even in the same ballpark as a mid to top tier team.
It'd be nice to see what he could accomplish given some quality shit. Im definitely not one of these queers who thinks that just because a guy is nice he "deserves a shot". I honestly think that given the circumstances with Honda, the lack of talen availablet, and what he's shown...that he has earned a 3 race contract to see what he's made of. The kid's never been on decent equipment ever, that I can recall. Correct me if Im wrong.
Plus, it'd be kinda cool to see a chubby kid up in the mix. Add some color to this sport since it just lost 40% of its personality with Reed and TC going down.
Or fuck, just give a ride to Scott Champion so we can see more of Erin. Either way, I dont care.
He's had some nice rides and it would indeed be nice to see him (or anyone else) take Reed's bike and get some of the best rides they've ever had and perhaps open some eyes.
Pit Row
That year Weston didn't have a team ride so he was clarifying that Rock River was just bringing bikes and helping him with things.
Rock River was not giving him a bike to my knowledge they supplied him with something to ride but it was not his bike.
Every pro rider tries to get someone else to buy their bikes.
Would you buy one if there was a chance you could save that $7-8K to help pay for driving yourself all over the country and paying all your own fees and expenses?
That interview was given right after Weston found out that the new team that Chaplin Kawasaki had signed him on for the outdoors had folded in like 2 days because of Alderton flaking out on the deal.
I think you would be hard pressed to sound upbeat and happy when your entire seasons plans had just been ripped out from under you at the last minute.
Weston rides with a chip on his shoulder. He's hungry. And he's durable. He'd do well in the fill in spot. I say top 10's in the beginning would not be out of the question. And after a couple races, who knows what he's capable of. Weve never seen him on a good bike.
Rock River is still cool, they hook alot of people up with what they can.
Sometimes the guy hearing something is the asshole and not the guy saying something.
besides since you don't ride anymore how can anyone comprehend racing.
I told Lou if there was any way they could get to Freestone I'd cover Weston's entry fee. I got to talk to Weston before the race and he's a cool dude who just wants to race his dirt bike. He went down on the start, but got back up and rode as hard as he could until his bike finally just grenaded due to overheating issues. The kid doesn't make excuses, he's a hard worker and doesn't quit or give up on anything, even when he knew his bike was headed south and he just went as long as it would allow.
He's got a fan here, and it'd be cool to see him get a little help or maybe a fill in ride for a round or two.
