Josh Hill and J-Law

Edited Date/Time 1/27/2012 4:44am
Apparently these two rolled a rental car... in the pits.... Saturday night.... before the Sunday of the Freestone national. They were..... bluntly put... pretty smashed when this happened. American Yamaha and Yamaha of Troy issued apology letters immediately. They both recieved $25,000 fines that are under suspended payment till the end of the probationary period. If any other behavior needing Disciplinary action occurs during this then the fine must be paid. Jeez, and Lawrence just got of probation. Between these two and the Reed (an embaressment to us Aussies), Ymaha's having some real rider issues Im not tryin to be dad but these guys are so rediculously gifted. Hill is halfway through his 2nd seaon as a pro and is already making somewhat consistent top 5's on a 450 at 18. Lawrence is in my opinion the only person that on a good weekend that can match Villopoto's speed in the lites class. Note that Villopoto is training hard consistently and dieting well. Lawrence Parties hard, rides alot, and is right now relying on unrefined natural talent. Hill as an amateur was supposed to be the next big thing, the next carmichael (to a certain extent). He is doin phenomenally well to the point of being a prodigy, but has soooo much more potential. Although after all, look at any normal 18-19 year old with the fun loving personalities these guys have, what do you think they would be doing most likely when given the opportunity?? yea, party like all us normal folks who dont need to worry about staying competetive against some of the worlds most talented athletes. I do believe that in pursuing certain goals and especially in a sport with so much relying on image and what the populus thinks, you need to make certain sacrifices. Especially with people as gifted as these two riders, it truelly is a tremendous hardship to dedicate themselves to attaing greatness (that they are both 110% capable of). Sacrificing the fun stuff "normal kids" do.... partying, drinking, crappy (yet oh so satisfying) diet, stayin out late and getting little to no sleep, you know, the good stuff. Raw natural ability can only get you so far before you hit an early plateau, then you get frustrated when your competition gets faster and more consistent. I dont know what Hill is doing training wise, but i do know that at least up until Freestone Lawrences training was.... lacking. If he put his head down, really changed his attitude on and off the track, trained hard with a top notch trainer ( and not "fire" him), got on a good diet, and began to mature, i whole heartedly believe we would have Carmichael-Stewart scale battles in the lites class between J-Law and Villopoto... consistently. Hope these two guys begin taking advantage of the talent they were given that we normal people would give a left nut for.

So you are saying Reed is a National embarrassment to Austrailia? And he is banished and shunned from society in your homeland? All because of a gay earring? You guys ARE tough. (Mad Max is my favorite movie by the way) Can we hire a couple of Aussies to straighten out California? Rumour has it people can marry dogs and trees out there.(KD Lang is marrying a gerbil this weekend.)

Why would you have such a problem with Reed calling out Yamaha to work on their problems? How is that so offensive to you personally? I actually find it refreshing, and informative.

People love to call out Reed. They'll miss him when James is a minute ahead of everyone in supercross.

For some reason, I think people come up with reasons to hate Reed. I'm not his biggest fan, but I at least respect what he has done in this sport.
