Here is a thought and well maybe it's been said before buttttttt.............................

When the rider gets the mic shoved in his face, as a rider I don't want to hear who buys his goggles, I absolutely know how important it is to the sponsors,
but I would much rather have that rider feel comfortable and discuss the race and what he did to make the pass, or lose the lead what ever. racing talk is what i like to hear.

SPonsors would be much MUCH better served to have a pop up on the bottom of the screen listing the riders sponsors while they interview the guy. THis takes the burden off the rider making a mistake and makes sure the sponsor get what they pay for.

opinoins?

I noticed Villo totally blew off Erin's question, and went directly in to his sponsor list. To me, if I were a sponsor, I'd be more turned off by that, and an emotionless spewing of a list of sponsor names, including mine. He needs to have some human qualities for fans to attach themselves to, for him to pay off for me as a sponsor. I want him to have fans. He seems like a droid on the podium.

Answer the freakin' questions. Show some emotion.

This subject is beat to death. TV stations are not gonna run sponsor banners at the bottom of the screen for free. This is what riders have been doing forever and it's not changing.

You're right, and it's sad that it only works that way here in the U.S.

Let me say thanks to my local bike dealer, HP computers, blackberry phones, my hairstylist, my dentist, and my employer.

Oh yes I agree.

The other solution I like is to guarantee the riders time to mention sponsors after answering the questions.

After the questions Erin would say "Anyone you'd like to thank?"

Yeah, there are only a few people that really answer the questions. Also, there really isn't a whole bunch of time. The podiums are more for thanking sponsors. Post race and pre-race interviews with the press go into more detail. There is plenty of time for them to talk about the race in more detail. The podium usually isn't one of them.

The riders gear is plastered with sponsor logos. The bike is plastered with sponsor logos. The track is plastered with sponsor logos. The pits are plastered with sponsor logos. The entire fucken sport looks like a billboard factory exploded. Are these "sponsors" really so fucken stupid that they think the non genuine speed babble really produces sales? The truth is that it makes them look like fools along with the rider, the team, and the sport.

Kevin Windham is the best at describing what happened in the race with sponsors strategic placed in his speech, that you hardly even notice it.

I know you guys won't want to hear this, but Nascar guys are really good at this, guys like Tony Stewart i.e. "I'd wreck my own Mom to win a championship."

I wish the guys would be more like Bob Hannah, Shaun Palmer, Travis Preston, and Travis Pastrana when answering questions.

And if they do it and keep the flow good for them but to simply read off a list that they always seem to forget or mess up hurrying it along.

lets face it. they don't chit for a purse.

they could at least have a better way to sell themsleves without sneaking forcing or taking that proverbial sip of some sports drink.

add some class to the podium process is all i would think this could do and be better for everyone.
