Yeah gotta agree, the early crusty vids and terrafirma vids still give me chills. Such a good time in the sport. So glad that I can say that these were my teenage years through the sport. People saying that they are not impressed by these vids and things like "the jumps were small" obviously dont get it. You dont see the likes of Chad, Dungey, Villopoto and Stewart heading out into the hills or the dunes to go ride, and tape all of it. Then after some big riding sessions, they all hit the piss and get loose and PARTY together. Such a great era of our sport for sure.

How awesome would that be to see, reed,tomac, stewart, poto, all freeriding and filming the whole thing.. its never going to happen but, i think it would be badass.

Yep, freeriding in the late 90's was fricking fun. We were all about finding the coolest natural terrain and busting it out. We'd head to the barn to fix everything we broke that day and suck down some cold beer.

to this day I dont think it gets any better than the Terrafirma 2 MC at Castillo ranch scene. Everytime I hear Face to Face I think of that movie.

Does anyone have the video or the link to the video of Chuck Carothers hitting a HUGE pack of doubles?? He came up short probably 5 to 6 times before he nailed it....I want to say it was in the no fear movie "chapter one"

Ive wanted to see that clip again for awhile now and it would be bitchin if someone has the clip.....

The 90's was when you could "stick it to the man". I remember when I was a teenager and got my first big bike, we would go trail/playriding almost more that practice motos, we would sneak into sand/gravel pits and blast big hits and cliff jumps. I have not done that type of play riding for a decade or so, but after checking out every video on this tread I think its time for a little bit of fun this summer.
I still have an entire library of MX video's from the 90's, time to check out some history.

She answered everything with "Yess I diiiiid"

They also interviewed a guy name "Bob "Throttle" Jackson who talked about "smoking Bob Hannah" as well was some derelict who claimed to have a "Hodaka" that was a "little devil" that "blew the tip of his dick off on a narrow dusty rocky mountain river road"



When these videos came out, I was like everyone else, riding moto, whatever. Then after watching them, hills became jumps. hills became berms. Singles became doubles. A real eye-opener. Croom in Brooksville FL went from a peaceful trail riding place to our weekday play riding pit. I know FL people remember that place. It's all whooped out garbage now.

I remember watching those videos over and over and wanting some LBZ gear. One year we went to the desert and me and a buddy just wore baggy jeans over our boots and were hucking jumps. I thought I was the shit. My freestyle days lasted until I did a nac nac on my brand new rm250 and my foot came off the peg. Bike was completely wadded and I was breaking it in. Needless to say I told my dad a very different story when I got home from the track.
