Hey you...Guy from OKC... My son used to ride there back in the early 80s... There was a guy that I always wandered about .. If he ever made it in the bigs...Don't know his name... He was an intermediate rider when I saw him... Won most of his races and His leathers said "NO BOZOS" on the butt. Any idea?

It's not a real big deal about No Bozos...I thought that with a Moniker like that someone would remember him. I think he rode a Honda in 125 & 250 classes
My son's name was Freddy Dion...rode a white 250 KTM and was a pretty good novice at that time...
Seems like I remember you...It's been a long time...Were you riding Expert about that time?

We used to run into Robby Reynard down at the riverbed when we were practicing..We promoted a few races at Thunderbird raceway outside of Claremore and Trey would show up with his Kawis..He was a wild man

Fred,
The only person I can think of would be a guy named Greg Baker and he did not go pro. Also could have been Brett Shumate who was very fast but blew out kness severals times. I was never a local expert. I raced from 1980-1990. Most of my time was spent in on a 80cc. My dad Kenny Sr. raced in the Over 30 class. It's amazing how many people from all over the country raced at 59th & Doulgas at one time or another.

Oh, I wasn't offended, actually it was kind of funny, there were a lot of local guys that had really clean bikes and the coolest gear!! If you didn't know, you'd think they were pro's, but when the gate dropped the were usually running dead last!!

Yeah Fred,

I was lucky to have grown up in the MX Mecca during it's heyday & going to any CMC race was almost like going to a National every weekend.

You're so right....I was the guy that was running the CMC North races during the 70s and I knew most of those guys.... Most of them were doing the Golden State races that were a real big deal in those days. We had a pretty good bunch of riders up our way, too....review my list of riders in my earlier post....

I raced Ascot in the mid to late 80's and just had a blast. It gave you that Stadium kinda feel with the grand stands. This was my first track I raced it actually made you a better Rider racing on the Blue Grove. (Throttle control).

Anyone remember the supercross event they had there? It was 86 or 87 they brought dirt in and made a cool track. I remember Shaun kalos was there. Let me know what the event was for....thanks

All our tracks are mostly training facilities except GPF which hosts a race or two annually. But between it, MTF and the Goat Farm (which is now Star Racing Yamaha), I think we have everyone covered. I'm forgetting several I know, but off the top of my head:
Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Dungey, Ivan Tedesco, Ben Townley, Joey Savagty, Davi Millsaps, Justin Bartia, RJ Hampshire, Eli Tomac, Jeremy Martin, Alex Martin, Christian Craig, Justin Cooper, Colt Nichols, Zach Bell, Justin Bogle, Martin Davalos, Malcom Stewart, Aaron Plessinger......and that's just the ones that have spent substantial time in Cairo

Washougal was my home track, and Chuck Sun and Rick Burgett were the local boys that made it to the big time!

Chuck Sun jumped over the top of me once on the big downhill. He snuck into the practice session for us mortals, and I'm sure he put the fear into more than just myself during those few minutes/laps!
