I know Jay Leno has had Maddison, Pastrana, Twitch, even Mike Mason if I remember correctly, on his show. I was just thinking, do you guys ever think we'll see the top racing stars, or clips of the weekend races, on Primetime TV?

Our local sports radio show here in Edmonton covers everthing from the ( terrible ) Oilers and the NHL to lacrosse to tennis. And lots on NASCAR. I think its frustrating that I can hear who won a billiards championship in Oregon, but theres no mention that Ryan Dungey won for the first time for KTM.

Do you think we'll ever see Jimmy Kimmel or Dave Letterman interviewing the weekend's winners, or see clips from the races? Or would that make our "little" sport too big?

If we get rid of the NFL and NBA, yes. Which would be fine with me.

Jay Leno had both McGrath and Ricky Carmichael on his show once, and Live Nation even built an SX track out in the studio parking lot. And later on McGrath got engaged on The Tonight Show -- knelt right down on the stage and asked Kim to marry him.

Hopefully now that motocross is on NBC Sports, the same as Leno, more and more we can pull some stuff off like that down the road....

i belive it will, as an old school guy, i never thought i would see live supercross on tv, or usa today cover mx occasionally or yahoo sports put out a blurb on a chad reed crash or a ryan dungy result. dont forget, the regular guy can buy a bike off the show room floor and have something to go to the track with and ride. try that in nascar or formula 1.

Supercross seems to be losing its polish, it seems so faded with the way the tracks are.. they cant fix something as minor as tuffblock covers... to be honest, after 3 races... and after riding round 4 in MXS, im not even looking forward to watching oakland...

Outdoors seem so much more biblical, and meaningful, i get up at 3am to watch live motos (In Australia), and i look forward to motocross now, i was never like that, thats major kudos to DC...

Supercross needs an overhaul fast, Feld need to revise what there doing asap... the tracks need tobe rider designed again, they need to invest in the series instead of wanting to save money here and there... The manufacturers practice tracks seem more techinical then what there racing on...

I feel they need to start putting a wider variety of obstacles... same old tracks with the jumps moved around... try some new stuff for fucks sake.

Ryann,
Just my 2c

Smile That's really neat. I never knew him personally, but I always looked up to him. Never heard a bad thing about him. It was a sad day when he died.

Thanks for the story Sperg. Cool

That already happened man. See where the plate says 2011? I've already seen that show.

Here in the present we have RD with the points lead, and Reed won the last race. RV has to make a comeback similar to his last two races but better. Better as in good enough to beat Dungey and Reed in the points. Hahahahahahahaha

It's just as well. Nope.

I like people asking me, "so what are you interested in?" And after my reply, it's like, huh? Oh, really?

It won't until they start paying the "professional" racers a professional wage, which they do not.

MX/SX will go on being self supportive as always.

But if it did become main-stream, I'd be out. It's already too funny with the dorks wearing the wolf's head gear and flat billed hats
