I went to the Cleveland and Pittsburgh supercrosses and the attendance wasn't very good at either. Wish they were still on the schedule. I heard the Silverdome is being refurbished (may be done by now?) and was going to start holding events again. That place always had a great crowd, I'd be there for that one again.

Cali needs a break......let us help....
In Anaheim your going to get the locals with a family to come out, you get the casual fan.
LA, your not going to get the family of four coming out looking for that kind of entertainment. Your just not, its not the demo. Plus, they used to sell ten dollar seats, no more of that. Funny though, when the economy was good that offered cheap seats, economy tanks and they do away with the cheaper seats.
And I left at 5:45pm and arrived at the stadium before 7pm. 118 Freeway to the 5.... I think I dipped below 65mph ONCE for like 1 minute.
Indy is two months away and selling out.
But please people, continue on with your preconceptions. it's been very entertaining reading about all the supposed traffic and gang activity...
The only thing I might give you is the traffic leaving the stadium. Thing is, I was out of Dodger Stadium in 15 minutes even after staying for the interviews. I can't remember the last time I left ANY stadium in that short of time. I don't care though, I never understood why people get so upset having to wait while leaving a stadium. There's 30-100 thousand people (depending on the location and event) trying to leave at the same time, what the hell did you expect? You in a rush? Listen to music or something and relax.
I'm not saying the LA race should stay either by the way. If the numbers aren't there the race shouldn't be there. Pretty simple as that. There's definitely something wrong with people though if they aren't going because they "HEARD" something bad about the area. Grow a friggin sack.... There used to be races at the Colesium... and christ we have a race in Oakland! Watch out!
That said, it's sure not the good ol' days.
My daughter is playing soccer in there. I sit in the stands and think back to the smell of 2 stoke smoke (even 4 stroke would be good).
There are some business reasons why it moved to Ford Field years ago. The attendance was never the same again after the move downtown.
The current ownership seems open to negotiating a deal. In spite of a lack of maintanence the Dome would still be functional and most moto fans would never mention the rough spots in the appearance of the facility.
Some motivated promoter will come along and put a fantastic event together in the Dome some day i am sure.
Pit Row
But it doesn't matter. It will never happen.
Seattle does really well every year attendance wise
I will say that the concentration on the west coast makes it much more affordable for privateer teams to get in more races. I'm sure the bigger teams don't mind as well.
Post a reply to: 2 years 2 empty stadiums for Dodger.
