Wasn't there a guy that came on here that claimed he was gonna do all the SX rounds on a 2 smoker or

something >? I looked for him at ANAHYMOM with no results. I was all over the pits like a modern day

Sherlock Homos, searching high and lo for the sweet smell of pre-mix.

Seems like every year we have a French guy or local that gets us all jazzed up and then, poof,

no two-strokes. Perhaps the circus promoter banned ' em ? I dunno...

Just wish someone, anyone, would represent.

And ANAHYMOM ONE (1) would have suited a well-prepped CR250 perfecto.

I love 2-strokes and I wish they would make a comeback, but you have to admit: if DV12 couldn't do it on a CR250, then a no-name privateer isn't going to fare much better.

I thought he came back on at one point and said that another sponsor stepped up with a 4 stroke. I could be wrong. Although you are right i don't see him in the results either way.
Edit. this link has what the deal is. http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Joey-Rossi,1228415?page=1 His name is MX628

That's the only move for the pros these days....take the handicap that's given to you. Being the underdog is one thing, but being the underdog with a 200cc displacement advantage is just not worth the espense.

he came back and said he basically could not afford the KTM250sx at full price and he was going to ride the 250 rounds (ill assume east, now) on his 2011 YZ250F that has like 54 hours on it. He said his practice bike has over 100 hours on it.

that is the story.

I really wish someone would have some though with a good deal for him.

That list is provisional, I would think they would not turn someone away who showed up with a 250SX.

Can't we get a fill in rider? That Schnizzle is popular in Supercross these days.

Appears the KTM 250SX he talked of riding is no longer on the approved equipment list for 2012 Supercross according to this: http://www.amasupercross.com/rules/pdf/2012/buletins/amaracing_bulletin….

Rup,

According to his Facebook page he seperated his shoulder... He says he will be racing ALL of the outdoors on the 250 smoker.

Thank you, sir.

Word on the * street is, people are begging The Bubba to fill in on the smoker.

Might as well.

You ever taken a second to read it more carefully? the YZ250 2 stroke is on the list... As for KTM's not being on there they probably have not filled the paperwork, so point the blame at KTM?

He won't qualify. A 450 is a must outdoors. The only chance anyone would have on a 2-stroke is indoors, with a good rider aboard. He needs to stick to Amateurs where he can maybe get some contingency money.

He didn't disappear. He replied to the thread later on saying he couldn't find a dealer that would come off full retail for one to help him out, so he's gonna ride his 250F on the East. Good choice too, because with the current field it would be at best very difficult to make the night show in the 450 class, nevermind a main.

hey Machine, we get it, you dont like 2 strokes. But whether your 22 year old A.D.H.D. ass wants to admit it or not, from 1968 or so to 2005, two strokes dominated motocross, and now in 2012, fourstrokes only hold their head above water because of a ridiculous multiple of 2 displacement advantage. now, if you prefer the lazy, no-snap power delivery of a fourstroke, then good on you, no one is faulting you for it.

just give it a rest. you post in every single 2 stroke thread with you "mafia" bullshit. if there were japanese manufacturers mass producing new 2 strokes, you had better believe a lot more people would be on them. Period.

grow the fuck up, kid.

Tell that to Mike Horban who qualified for Washougal last year on a YZ 250 2 stroke. If you know how to ride them, you CAN qualify, even at the privateer level.

After watching Mikey Horban ride at A-1 and seeing his mechanic, I'm a big ass fan.

Don't know if he made the main or not, looked good tho.

And most think I'm just a big ass, pahrumpum.

A few people raced 250 2strokes in the nationals this yea against 450 both riders qualified and got points...just so you know

and those were on antiquated YZ250s. The 250sx shares the same chassis as the 250sxf and makes 53hp stock. oh...um...and it weighs 210lbs which is 30lbs less than a 450.

30lbs.

i wish Tony Cairolli's mother had no died, and he had raced that Italy round on the 250SX. you people would be whistling a different tune when he podiumed. he won the championship on a heavier bike that makes LESS power than a 250SX, so it is more than safe to assume he would have at LEAST podiumed on that 250sx.

We ( everyone except me,) needs to get a BIG ASS pot of money together and see if we can get somebody, ANYBODY,

to sack up and race a two-stroke in one of these Supercrossesssss.

Hell no, I think it's a nutty idea and i wouldn't recommend it to anybody, but let us be realistic, these dudes

jumping ninety foot triples out of a corner in traffic are full on looneys anyhow....somebody will do it if

you throw a bunch of loot out.

65 feet.

tell that to ricky carmichael and chad reed in 2005. #1 and #2 in points, both on 250s, in a sea of Foopers.

the only disadvantage for a two stroke 250 is power DELIVERY. they rule in power production, handing and weight. the problem is, for the current crop of riders who came up in a 4 stroke world, that power delivery factor is almost insurmountable.

Well said. The foopers are awful and everyone knows it. They are just pretending if they say otherwise. They make riding and racing less exciting, they weigh a ton, they cost a ton, and they sound like ass.
