Talk about riding good, for being out of the USA with no SX racing then showing up with a Yamaha equipped with GP parts and Ohlins Suspension. The guy is riding great. He got a little tight and faded back in the main but he was gaining on Rattray for several laps and shows potential to podium or win.

Great job Zach.

Yea he has come along way since his snack pack days! I wonder if his bike is as good as the PC, Geico bikes? or if his results would be different on anothe r team.

Totally agree 500. All really good points. You did miss the part where the "Vital Hate Squad" regularly stated he might be doing OK in the GPs, but that was because GP riders are so slow, and if he came back to the states, he'd be lucky to finish top 20. Anybody else remember that?

Great job, Z'Oz.

If you have TGO Industrial Strength throw it in the DVD player and check out Zach in that. He has transformed himself. The babyfat on him back then was crazy. Hope he can find the speed to hang with Herlings for the GP title

People who talk like that don't know the Sport.

There is great talent on both sides of the pond.

The difference between "Snack Pack Zach" and the #338 we see today is pure determination and willingness to make the sacrifices needed to own that podium...AND the maturity to recognize it.

Kids coming up in the sport should adopt Zach as a role model. Can't go wrong admiring Osborne.

500 guy is gonna give away podiums here and take away wins in other threads.

Only thing is the guy he is taking the wins from has won 4 ama titles and the guy he's giving them to has not yet broken through?

In 2008 he rode a 450 for Puerto Rico at the MXdN and finished 6th in the MX2/MX3 race, ahead of Byrner, Metcalfe, Ferry, Rattray and a whole host of quality GP riders. Its kind of a shame he's flown under the radar of most American fans for so long, he deserves so much credit for what he's achieved over here.

Nope. Maybe '07. I just read this a couple days ago.

"Above all that, the most damaging thing to happen to his image/career would take place at round four in Budds Creek. After leading the majority of the first moto, Osborne would eventually fade back to twentieth place without ever crashing, leaving many people to believe that the slightly pudgy Virginia native was a slacker and out of shape. Unbeknownst to him at the time, Zach had actually suffered a heat stroke that would eventually lead to bigger problems later on."

Those 40 minute motos over the pond obviously toughened the guy up. I bet 15 minutes is like a walk in the park to him now. And I was watching him thinking his suspension looked awesome . Surprised to hear its ohlins kinda.....

Is he riding a FI YZ250f in Europe this year? I know Paulin had the only one last year but I thought I read somewhere that the Dixon team was getting more Yamaha support with the addition of Monster to the team. I wonder how much of a change it is to go from riding a FI bike outdoors to test and a carbed one indoors to test?

i think its because he moved to the gps so quick after turning pro. but, you guys post enough stuff about him where you always hear about his results

I doubt it. IIRC the FIM delayed the start of the GP's so that more riders could race SX and then return to Europe for MX. Seeing him on his Euro-spec bike and UFO gear make me think he is going back to Europe.
