I am sick to death of every other thread turning into a 2-4 stroke pissing match. And it's always the same 10 idiots. Please, get involved with a vintage moto website or something and stop living in the past on here. By the way, I'm 45 and own and race a post-vintage, air-cooled, 83 Cr480 once in a while when I'm not racing my '09 Crf450r in real races.
Thanks.

So, why is it the Big four conspire against two strokes? They need to change the displacement rules to even things out. Opinions?

Is a separate 2 stroke page some kind of "separate but equal" thing? Have to push off those higher performance machines so you don't look bad?

Of all the 2 strokes ever built the 83 CR480 had to be the biggest pile of s**t ever made, no wonder you are so bitter.

Show of hands...Doesn't anyone give a shit that you are 45, an alcoholic, and race a post-vintage, air cooled 83 Cr480 and still live with your parents?

I thought so. Smile

Good thing he's only 45. Otherwise he'd remeber a time when Husky riders were sick to death of hearing Maico riders yakking away; CZ riders were sick to death of Husky riders; Bultaco riders were sick to death of Ossa riders; and then we all stood around in amazement that anyone would even try to race a Rokon or a Harley Davidson Aermacchi. We debated left hand shift and right hand drive vs the opposite, strong CZ transmissions vs good Maico turning, Roger DeCoster vs Heikki Mikkola and Cycle Shack vs Cyclesports. Every Saturday in a thousand motorcycle shops we jawed about the same old things. Today we just do it on the Internet.

Barking and endless arguing about the virtues of various motorcycles is just as much a part of the sport as sore backs and Dos XX.

I can well remember the days at Rio Bravo when I was one of the few guys out there on a Japanese bike. LOTS of choices in the mid 70s

Are you saying there were Hannah fanboys and Howerton fanboys and they passed notes back and forth about who was better?

I thought that the AMA had a rule that you couldn't race bikes over a certain age in the Nationals.

...I don't race often, but when I do it's Dos Strokies...

I race my vintage 07YZ250 in the current open class(450) and I love it when I beat all that new technology to the first turn...often. It's a long uphill loamy straight too. I am not always the first person to the first turn though. Sometimes I get beat by this dude on a KTM. 250SX. So is the 450 class the vintage class then with all those heavy noisy slow bikes that cant get a start? I am confused because I thought I was supposed to be at a disadvantage.

I agree! We do need our own section so us A holes can talk about the fastest lightest bikes per CC in private so the A holes who dont want to bother learning how to use a clutch and clobber around on a bike that weighs 34 more pounds because of it don't have to be reminded and hear it daily.

Cool, so I suppose your 09 crf is a "real" bike as opposed to my 09 yz which is not. Or my 09 is just vintage since it is a 2stroke? I get it...
