haha ive heard alot, i was just listen to decoster on dmxs and he didnt say much about it so just wanted to know, thanks

It sounds like it hiccupped and made him crash, but Decoster made it sound like he wasn't sure if it hiccupped or that is just what Shorty thought... Bugs in the EFI? No clear facts since neither side wants to come out and say what was up

what caught my ear is last week on pulpMX Matthes asked AS29 how close he was to re-signing with KTM and Shorty said he was leaning that way and then "some stuff went down". I kind of wonder what "stuff went down" means. I doubt Roger tried to pull a quick one or anything like that but obviously something irritated Shorty. Perhaps so much money was thrown at Dungey that what was left wasnt much and Shorty took it as a slap in the face?

Probably was out testing some prototype equipment like he was being paid to do when something went south.

He had a crash related to a mechanical failure, this is unprecedented in the history of motorcycling.

I think the bike failed, and obviously KTM doesn't want to admit that, or want it known, and I think Short is just being classy and not trying to burn any bridges.

While you're at it get ahold of the folks out in Texas and ask them to get to the point about that whole JFK shooting thing.

Or can someone at least get a hold of Larry Brooks and ask him why it took so long to have some family time last year? Although, I'd rather hear the James Stewart version.

Well, actually, usually everyone says what happened....or better yet lies about it. The "no comment" stuff only serves to increase the interest in it. If they had said there was a small earthquake and the jump shifted causing Short to case the landing, everything would be fineWhistling . In their effort to absolve the bike of possibly breaking (what KTM's never break?) it only makes it seem like there must be way more to it. It's like when Howard Stern asks someone a very personal question and they say they won't talk about that and he says "that's a yes". All they had to say was Short came up short on a jump.

Exactly..... KTM is the only bike to ever do this too. No jap bike has ever had a mechanical. True story

So you're saying that maybe in mid-flight over a triple the bike needed to take some family time?

Roll out of a turn, hit the power and take off then Poof!!
Bike is back in Austria with the family hitting the ski slopes.

That would be rough to land for Shorty......explains a lot.

Short is a classy guy. But, I'm guessing the contracts are also written so riders can't go out and talk shit about their employer. Saying " some things went down" is probably about as close as he can get.

This has turned into the grassy knoll of Supercross stories. Except there's no grassy knoll at the KTM track.

I wish they would just say as well. Everyone already knows there was an issue of some kind and the more they hide stuff the more curious people become. If they said this what is was people would just move on to something else.
If it was the bike I highly doubt Decoster will ever confirm it. They always dance around questions like that when it's a team or bike issue. If he was avoiding the subject then it probably was more a team or bike error then a rider error. Just an assumption of coarse.

I heard he was testing KTM's top secret breakaway handlebars and they didn't break away.

Obviously had he been riding a two stroke none of this would have happened...

Then people might be thinking it broke in half! I really hope that's not what happened.

I heard the handlebars (or a component thereof) actually DID break away.
