Davi Millsaps is one of the more talented riders out there .

He is also one of the biggest slackers mailing it in 90% of the time .

His best performances will show up near the end of the contract year.

You just don't get better than that. And because they aren't Japanese they can make everything in house too.

As for Millsaps, I hope he has a great yar, he is so talented. I am just not sure he has the self confidence and total focus needed to be a title contender.

As for a solid race team with diversity .....you would have to go with KTM. From the outside looking in , they look like they have more money wrapped up into this coming year than any two teams combined. Except maybe Honda , which has like 6 guys running factory equipment.

I hate to be the debbie downer here, but I wouldn't say JGR is the best team out there. JS and DM have both seen success in their careers, but neither had that success with JGR. Stewart will be fast no matter what, but with the exception of a handful of races, the team as a whole hasn't seen too much success. Considering the resources they have available to them, the lack of solid results over a full season shows that their still missing something. Getting JS was a good move towards finding that missing link, but they haven't raced together yet.

Milsaps will never win a championship. He never could before his injuries, and never will now, no matter who he races for. His mother is the champion, making a fortune, "training " kids that will go no where. He's been passed up by the younger riders. If his name wasn't Milsaps, he would be a privateer trying to get sponsors. Good rider, but a disappointment, considering his background. Even a miracle wouldn't get him top 3.
Maybe you should check your facts. 2006 East Lites champion.

That was then this is now. The 450 class has been taken to another level over the last couple years. I agree with MX5471, however, that may not have been why he was hired. JGR and Albrecht are no dummies, I sure hope they didnt hire him and re-hire him with the expectations of him winning championships. That's what a guy like Stewart is for. Seems like they have been building up a solid program and now have pulled the trigger, and signed a contender. I think he should be at the front of the second pack, but as always I think he will be a click off of where he has potential to be finishing.
