You might wanna jus' get the latest from Chickenfoot and get it over with.

You can tell me how Diamond Dave "IS" Van Halen and all that shit; but, no...I'm not havin' it. He and Eddie are Oil-n-Water. Besides, they still owe me an apology for the US Festival. Man, did they SUCK.

Sammy and Michael Anthony are vocal assassins.

Oh, and, Satriani and Smith kinda seal the deal.

Chickenfoot really has nailed down the Continuation of Van Halen w/ "Big Foot".

I'm jus' sayin'...

Chickenfoot, the band: Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, Chad Smith.

A group that, musically, picked up where "Van Hagar" left off...actually...kinda like Van Hagar++ in the old Cumputer-language or Gun Ammo sense...either-way...your pick.

Van Halen...the...Band(?): Currently, I believe it's Eddie, a balding Dave, Wolfie Van Halen and uncle Alex.

Musicaly it's almost as sad as what a certain lil' prick hass done with the name "Gun's-n-Roses".

But, that's jus' me.

Honestly I'd never heard of Chickenfoot, but I just checked them out on youtube. Pretty good stuff. I've always liked Satriani's playing.

Shhhh!

The "Tool-Set" is gonna come in here and tell us how we don't know SHIT!

Go listen to "Bigfoot"...if you know your Montrose/Hagar/Van Hagar...you're gonna love it.

Sammy, was best in "The Justice Brothers". Saw them at the Legion hall on Arrow blvd out near Cherry ave. . They killed it along with a few Kegs.

I'm a rocker, through and through. Here's a list of my favorite bands: AC/DC, Van Halen, not Van Hagar, Skynyrd, Def Lep...

Wasn't the album supposed to be out this month? Eddy always says how he has "Three albums of material laying around" ( key word, laying around). I am surprised that Dave is being so quiet though. Steve Vai suggested (on The Metal Show) that he and Billy and Dave should get back together and do it again. If Dave could hang it would be good for him as both Steve and Billy have kept up their chops, as usual.

Van Hagar may have been very, very good in their own right. But they were no Van Halen. And Chickenfoot maay be a phenomenal continuation of Van Hagar. But there isn't a Van Halen without, Dave, Eddie, and Alex. Now Michael Anthony.....meh. Bassists are interchangeable unless they are Steve Harris in Maiden. And I humbly apologize for grossly offending every bass player on this board.

Is that you, Joe?

As to you Nay-sayers or those of you with your Van Halen v. Van Hagar arguments, that's fine...hang on to your memories. Apparently you guys didn't go to the completely pathetic shows were Dave mumbled out his slurred lyrics.
Fuck him & Eddie, too.

I know what I like and I know who's done 2 & 3 hour sets and who the complete fuckin' Douchbags are.

Any questions?

Chickenfoot has great players.
Sammy's voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me persoanally but the band is tight and delivers live.
Satriani is a monster, period.

Only Van Halen I am interested in hearing again went away a long, long time ago.

Okay, it's all opinions, and here's mine. First:

I saw Montrose and Hagar solo before there was Van Halen.

Saw Van Halen with Roth a couple times, including the first tour for the first album

I didn't see the Hagar version of Van Halen, and it was good music.

Have the first Chickenfoot "album" and will get this new one. Enjoyed it, great combo for classic Hagar style rock and love Satriani in any combo. He's a great solo artist and an even better contributor when he's in a group and he doesn't have to be all pyro all the time..

IMO, however, Van Halen with Hagar was much more in style about a continuation of Hagar's style from Montrose and his solo work than anything to do with the original Van Halen. Nothing wrong with that, especially since we got more Eddie, but they are apples and oranges.

It's too bad Eddie and Roth are both head cases.

I saw Van Halen on their first tour (1978?) and they were great. Saw them again in 1981 stumbling around on stage in a drunken stupor stopping in the middle of several songs because they forgot where they were at. Like Team Green, they still owe me an apology.....LOL. Haven't cared for them since.
