These kids now a days have no idea what clutch control is all about. Perfect example is this clown pinning the dam thing and trying to launch a start. A good rider knows how to grab the plates with a little front brake then release it all at the same time.

You need to be a riding coach with all that knowledge. RV and Dungey could use your help I'm sure. Laughing

Glad I don't have to pay for that.

Only Bevis or Butthead would stage something like that. I don't think national #64 would do that on purpose. A little oil came out, but at 10k rpm, there isn't very much oil in the bottom of the crank. All modern 4-strokes also make a lot of mechanical noise when idling on video.
What the hell is going on with recorded audio that it adds mechanical noise that you don't hear live? I would buy that if every video I ever saw made the bike sound like that.

I could give a bunch of reasons why someone might set this up, one being having video to show Kawasaki to try to get a new motor. Another being to gain some publicity, look at the attention this has garnered.....for the rider and video outfit. I don't know the financial well-being of this privateer, but I have seen plenty of guys with money do things to clapped out bikes for the hell of it, on film. Shit, I've seen video on YouTube of people doing doughnuts in S600 Mercedes' until they blow just for the hell of it. Does that make any sense? Maybe they deemed this motor as needing gobs of money even before it blew out the cases? In that case it is a parts bike to them anyway? It's not like the wheels, shock, forks and all go bad when the motor blows. Who knows? Even privateers can go through bikes like Kim Kardashian goes through men. I just don't think it is all that ridiculous to see this as a setup. Any video of him riding around before pulling onto the fixed camera, or did he just start it and idle over to the area with no warm-up? That would pretty much squash our conspiracy theories.

Just remember, conspiracies are fun!

Geniuses. This board is full of them.

If nothing else, this thread has done a good job at identifying the most likely 9/11 troofers among us.....The scary thing is that they ride on the same tracks as the rest of us.

On the one hand you have people that think he blew up his motor on purpose, on the other hand you have people that seem giddy and revel in the fact this kid's bike blew up. There's a lot of dumb in here, but it has been entertaining.

sixfortyfilms - I don't think it was rigged, but I am kind of curious why that bike sounded so awful. Did something just go wrong right there, or was it running like that all day?

All in all I can't complain. Views are views!

We had actually been filming for quite a while before his motor grenaded. He rode on the track for about 20 minutes wide open and we even filmed one start before as well. It doesn't really make much sense to people who don't film, but without a mic on a camera that needs a mic everything sounds totally blown out - plus the internal mike on that camera is absolute garbage. The shot from the front doesn't sound too bad with the good mic on.

But I guess the short answer to your question is - No the bike was running fine up to that point. He revved it to about half throttle then it started to climb on its own and kaboom!

Your OP is a total winner. Kudos sir.

I didn't even post this. I woke up yesterday after I posted the video super late on Facebook and saw that vital had posted it. Then "theycallmeebryan" started this thread.

Kudos to that guy! I owe him a chipotle burrito

Interesting you mention that. I noticed that in the vid but didn't know what to make of it or if I was seeing/hearing things correctly. Wonder what caused that?

Especially when it happens to your Yamaha AND Honda. Learned my lesson, no more 13,500 rpm 250F's for my family.

I won't buy junk 4 stroke...me no like winning.

If you are someone who races competitively on the professional level - a 2 stroke is out of the question...plain and simple. Granted they are plenty of fun to ride and everyone loves the way a crisp 2 stroke sounds, it's just not in the cards. Sorry man...
