Look, I'm sure DC and MX Sports, ALLI, NBC SPORTS/ Versus and everyone involved wants more than anything to have as many outdoor National races LIVE - as possible and, as motocross fans, we want it , too. Though, truth is- It matters not as much to me what channel or what time they are on, as long as we have comprehensive and, fairly current , PROFESSIONAL coverage. We'd like to see complete moto's (all four) in a timely manner with lively banter from the announcers and a thorough dissection and analysis of the action at hand and, the behind the scenes mumbo-jumbo - in HD (dammit)...With today's DVR, TIVO, multiple channels etc., many of us don't watch the shcnizzle live, anyhow ... Most of us mx'ers are out doing our thang (yes, thang). I know, I know, it's all about the advertisers, the teams, getting common folks hooked on our product, too, but, the reality is - I'm not sure the " average American consumer" is ever going to buy into our filthy, dangerous product - as much as we would like them, too, anyway...but, where I'm going with this and, many of you, who've bravely and patiently listened to my boring rants over the years will testify, is that I feel and have been saying this for at least one decade, perhaps, two, is that SUPERCROSS is the avenue to provide revenue for our venue - in other words, if we could ever get the American public hooked on REGULAR, CONSISTENT, LIVE, WELL-EXECUTED, pretty much every -Saturday- night broadcasts on a fairly mainstream channel, we would, eventually, draw in a loyal fan-base made up of folks from other sports, motorsports and regular TV-viewers. How do we do that ? Arrange a schedule where it is easy for the viewers to get attached, make it into a well -executed ,concise 3 hour package of racing action, backed with story lines and intense rivalries and, provide solid, reliable and consistent entertainment. Most of us that have been following the sport for a while would have imagined that we would have had REGULAR, LIVE SATURDAY NIGHT SUPERCROSS ten years ago, but, sadly, we've had fragmented broadcasts on a variety of channels that has left us throwing our hands up in the air and rolling our eyes...In summation, my moto brothers and sisters, my argument is this, if we want motocross junkies, we must first get 'em hooked on the Supercross and, then, there's a great potential for the followers to track their favorite teams and athletes outdoors - as well. The floor is open, take of your shirts and wrestle.
naked midget wrestling?
* For those that have limited attention, my theory is that Consistent Saturday Night Supercross broadcasts are the
gateway drug, to draw in potential new "outdoor" motocross enthusiasts, TV watchers and advertisers.

I remember watching 4 motos baaaaack in the day and loving it and it was a week or two after the race was held.. I think this place would struggle with that though but i, literally couldn't care less about that
the commentating doesn't grind on me as much as it does some others but i do like the jokey delivery of weege and emig but it's definately better with david bailey in the booth and I love it when RC is in there it's like you're watching with a mate with all his 'oh ooh's' and stuff

There is NO REASON, in this day and age, that we DO NOT HAVE ALL THE SUPERCROSS' LIVE ON TV - hell the stadiums
pretty much sell out ! WTF ?? It's a crime against motokind, I tells ya.
Comcast Sports Net shows the Canadian and FIM GP's weekday evenings between 6 and 8 PM. To be honest, I watched more of these last year than the AMA Nationals. I don't follow those series. I didn't know if it was last weeks or last years race. The coverage wasn't any better than the AMA series, but it was motocross on when I have time to watch TV on the same channel and same time each week.
1) the riders cant speak in a professional entertaining way
2) no one has ever made money in moto. it is a loosing proposition, just ask them.
fairly well in comparison, me thinks... and I don't feel their manner of speak really means that much in the grand scheme..
more so their actions....and we want actions.
2. No, there are quite a few quite comfortable now, due to wise investments, it's the others we need to be concerned
about - the 98 % that have not the vision or maturity to see the full, lengthy picture... and for those that don't make a
stand in their own behalf - it's high time.
i usually fast forward during interviews because it puts me to sleep before the next moto......so your saying i should start listening?
I don't mind the streaming internet broadcasts for MX, because as most people have said, we're usually busy doing whatever during the day and would just DVR it and watch it later anyway. But the broadcasts need to be archived so that you can watch them at any time, not just when they're live. Since I have an HDMI port on my computer I can plug it into my TV so it really isn't much different than watching on TV, although the quality of the vid suffers if the host server isn't very good, and when you amplify that onto a big HDTV it gets rather annoying
One last thing is that many of you say you would prefer that they all be on TV, even if they're not live. I can agree with that but only if that goes hand in hand with live streaming on the web with archived broadcasts. If the only way it gets broadcast is with a 1-7 day delay I think that will be a huge step backwards, because information travels so fast these days via the web that most people would have seen the results before seeing the broadcast, and I can only imagine that that would turn people off to watching the broadcasts
Sorry for the novel.

Revenue-generating properties, I might add.
They know their audience and they are not about to give them up. We motocross nuts are just a small part of that audience, and they tolerate us as long as we pony up with the ticket prices. Recall how they took away the free webcast. Monster-truck loving freestyle fans couldn't give a shit about a live webcast of a race.
