+1 on the bisque, made with milk instead of water and some sliced jalapeno. Thats how we do it in the firehouse. Try the 5 cheese grilled sammy at Mimi's sometime. It's a long way from the trailer park.

I think you guys are onto a good thing here, let's post up some of our favorite recipes, most of what you wrote seems like good winter food, I'd be interested in trying some of these things listed...let's make a Vital Recipe book, so easy, we can just have Scotty or GuyB make a sticky at the top and post em. I make a mean mexican chili plus it's so easy !! Anyone can make it even if you can't boil eggs haha

The title of this thread had so much potential to go totally off the rails, real quick, and yet it didn't. Speaks volumes for the integrity of the people in Non-Moto, no?

I used to eat the girl next door on occasion. She was 98% white with some pink parts.

I like spam, we grew up eating it cause it lasts FOREVER, so my dad always had it on our sail boat, so we'd head to catalina and have spam n eggs for breakfast Wink good times, haven't had it in years but it does bring up good memories !

Spam brings back memories for me too. Mostly rabbit hunting. We would take off early in the morning in the brisk fall air and Mom would always send me out the door with a fried Spam and mustard sandwich on white bread wrapped in a paper towel. Nothing could possibly taste better walking around the brier thicket carrying a shotgun.

Keeping it simple, two of my favorite dishes are the easiest to make.
#1 is boil some angle hair pasta. stain and add olive oil and pesto from a can. Eat warm or room temp with lots of Parmesan cheese.
#2 Also a pasta dish. boil your noodles. Can be anything, shells and twists work well. Strain, melt a good helping of butter over the hot noodles to make creamy, mix in cream of chicken noodle soup, add milk to thin it down. Pepper on the plate, delicious.

Polacks!??!!??!

Ukrainians, mate.
Ukrainians and Poles both have pirogies, although the Ukes call them Pyrohe (pronounced: "pedoheh")

I make a mean Pyrohe from scratch. Tongue

Don't know if anything I cook is considered white people food. If I'm in the kitchen, it's probably going to be Creole or Cajun. Next up on my menu is fried eggplant pirogues filled with lump white crabmeat and topped with shrimp in a buttercream sauce. With some jalapeño hushpuppies on the side, of course.

+1 I'd almost given up on the "proper" pronunciation war, thanks for reviving my spirit.

Spaghetti squash yes....

Cut them in halves, take a fork and run it from one end to the other, so it looks like it has lots of racing stripes (or looks like strands of spaghetti), place some butter, garlic, Parmesan and a little scallions on it and bake it till soft, brown melted =) Major delicious.
