Josh Grant’s rookie year came in 2004, and he rode his Amsoil Honda to tenth overall in the Motocross Lites series. Along the way, the eighteen-year-old racer earned three podium finishes. The following year was another consistent one, as he finished a solid eighth overall in the East Coast Lites Supercross series. His best finish of the series came at the physically grueling Daytona Supercross, where he battled to the very last corner to earn second place. Grant would close out the year with a seventh overall in the Motocross Lites division, once again competing with the Amsoil Honda satellite team. The 2006 season established Grant as a definite title threat. He would again choose the East Coast Lites series as his battleground, and would finish a respectable third overall.
However, he did so with three wins: one in Atlanta, another in Orlando and the third one in Detroit. Grant would also finish third in the outdoor national series, with four podiums in the Lites class. In the same year, he would take his Sobe/Samsung Honda CRF250R to the top of the podium at the U.S. Open of Supercross in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 2007 season marked Grant’s third year as a pro and he continued to show that he knew what it took to stay up front. A third overall in the Motocross Lites series, which contained an overall win in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, followed three podium finishes in his Supercross season.
Many expected a Supercross Lites title from Grant in 2008, and although he was definitely a pre-season favorite, he got off to a slow start. However, once the season got going, Grant would return to his old self, as he challenged front-runners Ryan Villopoto and teammate and eventual champion Trey Canard. Grant would go on to finish the season in the fifth spot.
Grant won the 2009 AMA Supercross season opener in Anaheim, Calif. The win was his first in the premier division, and gave the Muscle Milk/Toyota Team its first supercross victory. Grant went on to earn two additional podiums, fourth in series points, and top-ranked rookie status. Grant then podiumed at the opening round of the AMA Motocross Series. He won his first overall 450 Class motocross victory on July 4, 2009 at the Buchanan, Mich. round of the series. He podiumed again at the Washougal, Wash. round. While second in AMA Motocross Series points, Grant encountered injury while qualifying at X Games 15 during the Moto X competition. After fracturing his ankles, he attempted to race again at the Budd’s Creek, Md. round of the AMA Motocross Series only three weeks after the injury. Grant ran as high as fourth, but two minor crashes ruined his chances to stay at the top of the series points so he sat out the remaining seven motos of the series. Even so, Grant was still sixth in series points for the year.
He has tattoos so hes a punk.
He was with Metal Mulisha 3 seasons ago?.. So hes a gangster.
I understand your point of view of needing to put his head down and work hard this year, because we all know how the economy is, and it IS a possibility he could be "on the way out." If that is the scenario, surely he will stay in the industry whether its testing, riding schools, or whatever it may be..... JG is here to stay. And if hes dialed on that Kawi, and can manage to stay healthy for a year, he is capable of being a consistent top 5 guy. Wish him the best of luck this year.
Take young Ddavis for example. He's getting a little better, but 7 years from now he'll still be posting facepalm material. One day he'll turn 30, wake up and realize why everyone has been busting his balls for 15 years.
'nuff said
Guess the question is, how much did Reed, RV & Dunge improve while they were on the couch?
He's WON an SX main on a 450...not to mention his Lites wins.
He's obtained a Title.
He's got a lot left in him.
You can call him a "Punk"; yet, when I've been around him he's been respectful and he's been "honorable".
So...
Haters gonna hate.
GFY and EAD.
Try this instead...."Damn, Grant is an awesome rider that I feel has not reached his true potential. I really think that with a little more focus and hard work, he could live up to or exceed the expatations that everyone had of him coming into the 250 ranks. I understand that injuries have played a part, like they do for every rider, but hopefully the new responsibilities of being a husband and a father will help him realize the challenge and road in front of him and make him want to win more than ever as now, it's not just about him, but about his family as well. Good luck Grant......P.S, I'm not a fan of the "gangsta" image and I hope it's just a phase or an image that doesn't really reflect who you truely are, but really, who am I to judge anyway."

You see the differernce there. Although Grant doesn't owe you anything, which of these statement's would be more appropriate if you were to meet him face to face and wanted to express your thoughts? I know how I would feel. If things went your way, you'd be picking yourself off the ground and counting your missing teeth(if I was him or his dad) and if things were presented my way, I'd be saying thanks for the support and the input and I hope to show everyone what I'm capable of. Here is a jersey or goggles or autograph or whatever.
I don't get why people come on here talking trash like they know first hand, EVERYTHING that someone is going through. On top of that, the way it's presented, I don't get it either. Who looks like the "punkass wannabe" after posting?
I see nothing but great things for him and his team. Pretty exciting!
