I'm kind of surprised that Jeff Ward went with a guy like Grant-doesn't seem to be his type. Maybe he thinks he can have the right influence on him. I'm not sure that he will-that dog don't hunt. Ward is one of the greatest overall racers of our sport and he worked like a dog when he trained with Spencer and was super fit in his day. Grant doesn't seem like he does much of any training, and his results say as much.

Hard work will beat talent when talent doesn't work hard. I like Kyle C and think he has way more upside than either Grant or Milsaps. Can't believe he hasn't been signed with either JGR or JWR.
If you're talking about Kyle Chisholm, no, he has no job for now. I suppose spd721 was talking about Kyle Cunningham...

I am a huge fan of your sons talent. I dont think there is anybody that can run with him when it is his day. That said I also think it is time for the kid to grow up and quit acting like a punk. It is not smart to go on public forums and tweet about how much him and the woman like to party nor is it smart to use words like fag. He is nowhere near a professional and that probably has led to him being passed over for some of the top tier rides that he is capable of acheiving off talent alone. Josh is on his way out if he does not start putting in the work that is required to run at the front in ama pro supercross/mx. Just calling it like it is.

I would love to see Wardy do well, but has Grant finished an entire year ever? How many series has he even completed beginning to end?
Josh Grant
Josh Grant’s rookie year came in 2004, and he rode his Amsoil Honda to tenth overall in the Motocross Lites series. Along the way, the eighteen-year-old racer earned three podium finishes. The following year was another consistent one, as he finished a solid eighth overall in the East Coast Lites Supercross series. His best finish of the series came at the physically grueling Daytona Supercross, where he battled to the very last corner to earn second place. Grant would close out the year with a seventh overall in the Motocross Lites division, once again competing with the Amsoil Honda satellite team. The 2006 season established Grant as a definite title threat. He would again choose the East Coast Lites series as his battleground, and would finish a respectable third overall.

However, he did so with three wins: one in Atlanta, another in Orlando and the third one in Detroit. Grant would also finish third in the outdoor national series, with four podiums in the Lites class. In the same year, he would take his Sobe/Samsung Honda CRF250R to the top of the podium at the U.S. Open of Supercross in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 2007 season marked Grant’s third year as a pro and he continued to show that he knew what it took to stay up front. A third overall in the Motocross Lites series, which contained an overall win in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, followed three podium finishes in his Supercross season.

Many expected a Supercross Lites title from Grant in 2008, and although he was definitely a pre-season favorite, he got off to a slow start. However, once the season got going, Grant would return to his old self, as he challenged front-runners Ryan Villopoto and teammate and eventual champion Trey Canard. Grant would go on to finish the season in the fifth spot.

Grant won the 2009 AMA Supercross season opener in Anaheim, Calif. The win was his first in the premier division, and gave the Muscle Milk/Toyota Team its first supercross victory. Grant went on to earn two additional podiums, fourth in series points, and top-ranked rookie status. Grant then podiumed at the opening round of the AMA Motocross Series. He won his first overall 450 Class motocross victory on July 4, 2009 at the Buchanan, Mich. round of the series. He podiumed again at the Washougal, Wash. round. While second in AMA Motocross Series points, Grant encountered injury while qualifying at X Games 15 during the Moto X competition. After fracturing his ankles, he attempted to race again at the Budd’s Creek, Md. round of the AMA Motocross Series only three weeks after the injury. Grant ran as high as fourth, but two minor crashes ruined his chances to stay at the top of the series points so he sat out the remaining seven motos of the series. Even so, Grant was still sixth in series points for the year.

Nobody said that your kid cant ride a bike. What people are saying is that there are alot of other guys that can ride just as well and dont come with all the bullshit that Josh seems to want to bring to the table. He is what 25 now? Time to growup and start acting like an adult. Quit with the gang signs and learn some work ethic. Hard work beats talent in this sport everytime. And whats that old saying your only as good as your last finish? Last I checked he has not finished shit in two years. Truth of the matter is if he does not pull his head out of his ass and start putting in the work he will be on his way out. There are way to many up and coming kids with serious talent for him to not conform to what these teams want and need. A PROFESSIONAL not a punk ass wannabe gangsta. Grow up Josh Grant.

Grow up? How many 25(?) year olds have a house, multiple vehicles, and married with a son?
He has tattoos so hes a punk.
He was with Metal Mulisha 3 seasons ago?.. So hes a gangster.

I understand your point of view of needing to put his head down and work hard this year, because we all know how the economy is, and it IS a possibility he could be "on the way out." If that is the scenario, surely he will stay in the industry whether its testing, riding schools, or whatever it may be..... JG is here to stay. And if hes dialed on that Kawi, and can manage to stay healthy for a year, he is capable of being a consistent top 5 guy. Wish him the best of luck this year.

Ditto. I'm not really a JG fan but growing up is easier said than done at 25 years old. Especially when things are coming easy. I know when I was 25 I had a lot of growing up to do, it took another 5 years before I figured it out. He'll figure it out too but he's still a kid, cut him some slack. Not many of us were/are mature and willing to listen to anybody at the age of 25.

Take young Ddavis for example. He's getting a little better, but 7 years from now he'll still be posting facepalm material. One day he'll turn 30, wake up and realize why everyone has been busting his balls for 15 years.

Jeff Ward speaks highly of Josh Grant and said he can work with him to minimize those injuries.

All I am trying to get at is the kid needs to quit acting like a clown and focus on the task at hand. If you compare him to some of the guys that are successful you will notice a big difference. They work hard and FOCUS on only the task at hand. A mx career is short lived for most so heres to hoping he can make the most of this great opportunity in front of him. I used to be a huge fan, but his actions over the past few years have turned me off of him.

I hope Josh can put a full season together this year. Exciting to watch him ride for sure. 2 guys I'm really curious to watch this year is him & Canard. If either of these guys can pick up where he left off that would be a massive feat, psychologically, and physically.

Guess the question is, how much did Reed, RV & Dunge improve while they were on the couch?

Still Mulisha.

He's WON an SX main on a 450...not to mention his Lites wins.

He's obtained a Title.

He's got a lot left in him.

You can call him a "Punk"; yet, when I've been around him he's been respectful and he's been "honorable".

So...

Haters gonna hate.

"Time to growup and start acting like an adult"..............Oh shit, I must have missed the newspaper articles about DUI's or the TMZ reports about being caught with drugs, etc etc. Tattoo's and being "BRO" is not my style, but what exactly has Grant done that is so immature? At 25, I wasn't ready for fatherhood or marriage, you act like Grant is out at strip clubs doin drugs while his "babys mama" is at home living in a friends apartment on unemployment, with no car, trying to put food on the table because Grant is a dead beat dad that doesn't pay child support and beats his kid cuz he spilt his milk or pooped his pants. Cmon....do you read before you submit?

Try this instead...."Damn, Grant is an awesome rider that I feel has not reached his true potential. I really think that with a little more focus and hard work, he could live up to or exceed the expatations that everyone had of him coming into the 250 ranks. I understand that injuries have played a part, like they do for every rider, but hopefully the new responsibilities of being a husband and a father will help him realize the challenge and road in front of him and make him want to win more than ever as now, it's not just about him, but about his family as well. Good luck Grant......P.S, I'm not a fan of the "gangsta" image and I hope it's just a phase or an image that doesn't really reflect who you truely are, but really, who am I to judge anyway."

Sincerly JHansen510

You see the differernce there. Although Grant doesn't owe you anything, which of these statement's would be more appropriate if you were to meet him face to face and wanted to express your thoughts? I know how I would feel. If things went your way, you'd be picking yourself off the ground and counting your missing teeth(if I was him or his dad) and if things were presented my way, I'd be saying thanks for the support and the input and I hope to show everyone what I'm capable of. Here is a jersey or goggles or autograph or whatever.

I don't get why people come on here talking trash like they know first hand, EVERYTHING that someone is going through. On top of that, the way it's presented, I don't get it either. Who looks like the "punkass wannabe" after posting?

Josh Grant is one fast mofo.

I see nothing but great things for him and his team. Pretty exciting!
