Awesome! Great news for JS, great news for JGR, those guys are working their a$$ off to make it happen and needed a rider of JS's caliber to move to the next level.

Also good to see JS stay on a Yamaha, despite all the post SX season bitching, shows that the bike can work when you do the right thing.

This next season is going to be fantastic, with JS, CR, TC, The New Alien RV and the Orange Man. Now praying and crossing fingers that they all line up healthy at A1.

Just shows how easy nascar really is! I know they try to broadcast every sunday that nascar is so hard and they say its harder then it looks to go left for 500 miles. If nascar is so hard then put Jimmie Johnson on JGRMX for the 2012 SX and MX season he marketable, right?
yeah never, ever once watched one...you giving up sundays to those guys?

He doesn't handle pressure very well, with a even stronger RV showing up at A1 I don't see his winning another title.

I'm excited to see how JS7 will do in 2012, the deal sounds great to me. And with JS7 out there on a team that he's happy with can only make the racing better for us, the fans, whether your a JS7 fan or not, its great to have him out there racing.

I personally cannot wait to see JS7, CR22, RD5 and RV, Trey Canard, Josh Grant and the rest on the start gate....the depth of talent is mind blowing, and the younger boys have some maturity to go with that talent now...its going to be a crazy year.

I think James to JGR will be a good fit for him. Hopefully they keep him more focused on just racing. I do think though we all lost out on seeing what he really is capable of by staying on a yamaha. I think the handling on the zooks would have really made him shine. Look what that bike did for Reed in 09 and dungey the last few years. Even allesi was looking good on it until he crashed his brains out lol. Not that the yamaha is crap its just a weird bike in general and I think James would have had a little bit more of an edge the suzuki. But he's riding blue for the next few years so oh well. GO Villomoto!

Atleast now all JS fans can still use the bike brand as an excuse to why he wrecks all the time.

LOL! even if you hate what he's saying you gotta admit its entertaining to listen to him get overly excited. My favorite is when someone like RC is saying something informative and interesting then all of a sudden "AND STEWART MOVES INTO THE LEAD!!!!"....RC is like uh yeah, like I was saying....

JS7 cant win with most the people on this board....

if he comes out and says, im just gonna go out there and do my best....most of you would be like, ohhh james has given up, he doesnt have the same winning desire he used to have, and blah blah blah blah....

on the other hand, he sets himself a goal, and says he really wants to go after that win record...and most of those same guys are all over his sh*t cause hes too confident, its impossible, no way he can reach that goal....blah blah blah....

most of you that constantly say, he should just quit racing, will be first to jump on the board and bitch and moan, when he does retire.....

i dont understand it....

It's 2011 none of these bike are bad, if that was the case he wouldn't have signed with yamaha again. Not the bike its the competition.

James just does not have the brains to beat MC's record, MC had the speed and brains to always be up front and rarely make mistakes. James has the speed but makes a lot of mistakes, the competition in 450 SX over the last few years has made things even tougher regardless of how fast James can ride.

To be honest a rider should not set his goals to beat such a record as MC's at this stage. 1) He's not even close to it 2) He should purely be focused on the 2012 Championship and not some win record that is so far out of reach right now..

Maybe if he gets closer in future then fair enough, but at this stage he's thinking way to far forward

lol ok, tell me how many passed champions in motosport have gone after pacific win records, look at all the greats they take it 1 race and championship at a time. Supercross is such a dangerous / unpredictable sport anything could happen in 3 years time, and we all know how bad some of the crashes James has been in the last few years.
What's a pacific win record?...Huh

I wonder what the young race car drivers that have been racing their way to the top and dream of being a nascar driver think about JS and RC. Pretty much handed the oppurtunity to race in nascar just because they can ride dirtbikes. I mean look at RC he sucks in that truck but it dont matter because he had a good ride on two wheels.
They have opportunities to have 4-wheel rides because they bring sponsors, riding dirtbikes well relates to that indirectly as the origin of that sponsor support.

This seems like an ideal situation for both Stewart and JGR. If they have a lot of success this could really bring in a lot of outside exposure, sponsors and potential new team owners. Everybody is constantly talking about what does MX / SX need to be more mainstream and it is stuff that like this that can attract better people from outside because right now the industry is a stagnant pool.

People who don't like Stewart are pretty entrenched in what they feel about him, and every bit of information gets filtered with confirmation bias to support that existing opinion. The same dynamic applies to super fans who explain away stuff as well.

There's nothing in the press release any person who loves the sport would to take issue with unless they were looking for things to pick on before reading the first word of it.

All the old D class vet goons ramble on about "the good old days" and how the old guys would try to win at all costs blah blah blah but then they're the first ones to show up in the James Stewart threads and bitch about how he's "omg sooo stupid for going for the win!!11"

Right on, James. Now get to work and come out swinging. Their is a new Sheriff in town and he is an angry, albeit 1 million dollars richer, son of a bitch.

Joe Gibbs has built one hell of a company and anybody would be proud to be a part of it.

Jbone has got nothing on Ohmara..IMO. I think the new team and old mechanic will be good for James's confidence- but if he truly plans to try and ride like he's back on his kx 125 (blow bye everyone and win 10plis a season)...I think he is planning to be supremely dissapointed come Jan 7th.

I'll be glad to have him back in the mix. As up and down as he's been with everything he's still one of the most exciting racers to watch. Just wouldn't wanna be anywhere near him going over the triples! :-O lol

Who said any of the bikes are bad? And James riding a blue bike most likely has nothing to do with whether he likes it, its about business, money and contracts. And lastly, at his level, the bike most certainly DOES have everything to do with how well he rides. Every racer has preferences and the blue bike might not suit his riding style despite suspension tweaks. When you dont have full confidence in your ride, you are not gonna go full-out. Not really. Even a weekend warrior knows that much. You are assuming that Pro AMA racing is like some kind of IROC racing where the bikes are all the same, well they arent.

"This deal also means a return to the AMA Pro Motocross Series for Stewart, which should satisfy the burning desire of fans and media members alike that have been salivating to see one of the fastest riders in the country make his return to the great outdoors."
