For a super mini rider he sure does get alot of hype! I remember seeing him at Lazy River racing Bell and man that kid flys!!! They announced him signing a 5 year deal with kawi to finish his amateur career on a kawi.. but that puts him at 19 yrs old so i gues he got a 2 yr deal with mitch too for when he goes pro at 18....

But is he getting paid? Or is Monster Kawi like buying his parents houses and cars and paying for their food and stuff like that??? And if he is getting paid whats the figures?

hes going pro at 16. has a 5 year deal with mitch that takes him thru the next 2 years of his am career and 3 years of PC rides as a pro.

it was my understanding they removed the 18 for pro deal

Lot's of am's take pay cuts when they turn pro.

They did last year, if they didn't Roczen would have never raced.

AC will be 15 very soon, so if he turned pro at 16, it would be the 2013 season. That would mean only 1 year on big bikes which I think is unlikely but still could happen

The problem he is facing is that he is still pretty short and under 100 lbs I believe and they have a target of him being a 115 lbs. before he gets on a 250f. Very smart to take it slow IMO

He didn't have Stewart, Dungey or Roczen and that is just a few examples, hardly a monopoly.

All the MFG's are doing it.

He also didn't get Barcia or Whorton(sp?). Also, other teams had a shot at Baggett and Tickle, I'm sure.

There have been many awesome mini riders that were thought to be the next big thing, only to flounder in the pro ranks. A.C is super fast, but didn't dominate through the minis like James did.

PC contracts aren't that much they just have really good bonus.. But let's just say AC makes more then 80% of vital members do in a year.... His A-stars contract, is a little over 60k a year that's what he was telling me and a few other amateurs at Loretta's in 2010.

well stewart might be an exception but pc had RV when dungey came on the scene. they dont have all those plates on mitches rigs for nothing. does mitch just run the pc team or is he more involved at pc than that

Collecting a salary is not AMA legal as an amature, but having every expense paid and putting Mom, Dad or a Trust on the payroll isn't. Just having all of your expenses paid, is like getting paid...because you aren't paying for it. JMO, so I may be wrong...

I think FC has the monopoly on domestic talent since they started their amateur/pro transition program. Canard-Wharton-Barcia-Tomac-Bogle, and now Bell. They get the best prospect every year, Pro Circuit gets established riders from other teams and GP riders.

Yeh that's what I figured he gets ALL of his expenses paid... and u think they get a card to use for food... but it must be nice. The lid is a best tho... just hope he does good on big bikes. Id say he will. Mitch will mature him and get him on some roids to gain weight if he has to lol but he's a cool kid. I've met him once.

I know a mini dad that was getting all expenses paid plus 75k a year from an OEM while the rider was paid a good amount in savings bonds. I asked once how much is he getting in bonds and the reply was enough to get through college and have a decent start to life.

Monster Mitch and Kawasaki all love him, he's collecting a good check.

Something not mentioned here: AC is a marketing wonderboy. He is super nice and very very well spoken. Ive never met the kid but the interviews with DMXS and Pulpmx are impressive. Good for him, good for Mitch.

The kid is smart, talented, etc...but I think they are over marketing him right now. Over exposure can get ugly.

We need an AC in this sport badly, no more robots on the podium, AC can make it happen, our sport needs more AC's and Roczen's, personality is key, we want likable racers/riders.

The kid reminds me of a young Travis Pastrana, expect with a total and complete focus on racing.

Getting everything that has to do for racing for free.....is a pretty nice paycheck anyways. Lets you spend your money on whatever else you need. I'm sure AC pretty much isn't having to pay for anything except travel fee's and so forth..........but who knows.....At that level , he probably aint paying for much.

If a rider has a GP license, he is eligible in ama at any age.

Mitch usually doesn't get the #1 top guy out of amateurs... but when the 3-10 guys get on his team, he makes them champions. That's the difference.

Mitch makes champions... other teams try to buy champions.

Maybe if you count that first year in 7-8 when he went straight to the 65, then came back to the 50's and won ever since.

And I guess when he's been on the young side of a class moving up, he didn't dominate Roczen and Bell but they also didn't look 2 years faster than him.

I wouldn't say AC92 has had the am career of rc, js7, and alessi. The kid usually has a hard time at LL's for some reason and cooper Webb kept him honest at the mec on a defferent brand and the change from a 4 stroke to a 2 stroke.

If you use Loretta's as the barometer, you are wrong on this. Alessi and Carmichael each won 8 minibike titles at LLs. Stewart won 9. Adam has won 9 with at least two more years to go at LLs. Also, Adam did it the hard way. In 2010 he could have ridden in the 85 class but chose to race kids 2 or 3 years older in Supermini. Had he taken the easy road, he would probably be sitting on 10 or 11 titles.

Stewart did something that I doubt we will see again soon. He won an A class title as a true 15 year old.

Adam gave up on his last 2 years on a 65 also.
