I am sure the organizers and sponsors did not think anyone would win the million, can they survive it now that Villo did. I heard it is being paid over 20 years but, but it is still some big money. Did they get an insurance policy to cover it or not? If so, will they be elgible for coverage next year?

1,000,000 dollars. paid 50k per year over 20 years.
50k is 5% of 1,000,000
5% is what a money marketing account makes. a REALLY good C.D. makes 5%. coca colas stock probably makes 5% per year. they could invest it in themselves.
monster (coke) could invest the 1 million in their own stock and just pay Poto the interest. So techinically it costs them nothing to pay him the million. If you consider the hype th emillion dollar give away generated, they will PROFIT by paying him a million bucks.
i can not believe some people think 1 million dollars is a lot of money to a juggernaut like a drink company. it's chicken scratch. they settle out of court for law suits worth quadruple that
I think they'll be perfectly fine for the second annual edition.
I was told it was a 500k lump payment OR $50K a year fir 20 years, not both.

Sponsors (like message board members) come and go. If there were message boards back in the day, we could have wondered what would happen if we lost Camel, or Wrangler, or Miller, or EA Sports, or Amp'd Mobile.
If all else fails? They cold pick up the red phone, and convene a meeting of the Vital MX Rocket Surgeons.
alas, that's just one example. monster has a team of investors,(as do most fortune 500 companies) the same people that arrange the employee's 401K accounts that could invest that million, and pay villopoto with the interest, and i can assure you thats what they'll do.
that payout will not cost them a penny. monster is a not a charity. they are in it to make money. these companies do show shell out a penny unless they'll get 2 pennies in return.
Er, I think you mean, Brain Scientists.
doesnt take a "rocket surgeon" to see that, no?
I've heard Feld was trying to get insurance but was late. If Monster was coughing up the cash, why wern't they seeking insurance?
I'm confused.
One thing I'm pretty sure of, Monster isn't Coke. We package stuff for many different companies, even Dr.Pepper so maybe that's where the confusion is.
