Mike Alessi needs___--_--_--_--_--___

It's so easy for you morons to sit back and criticize each rider. If you gum wagons are such good strategists why aren't you employed in an advisory position on a factory team? Better yet, why don't you PM Jeff Alessi and get Tony's contact info - I'm sure he'd be very interested in hearing what Mike is missing.

The dude has been doing this HIS WHOLE LIFE. It's very naive of you gummies to suggest he's not in good shape.

I think this all the time and it can be quite comical. The whole concept of people criticizing the top riders from their computer chair is hilarious, they should have to list their Pro MX or SX accomplishments first before anyone can take their opinion serious.

Shut up Tony! Jheez! The guy needs to sort it out. All the hype has led to nothing. Apparently he hasnt learnt that either. All the pre-race films of him riding a hybrid track-(that no one else had the privelage of having!) and the "Yeah, I've got me eyes on that million. Bla, bla..." When was the last time Alessi won a race? (Don't google it!) I'm sure if you set a super slow mo camera on a start every pro rider has technically been 'in the lead' even if it for .000123 seconds or whatever. Leading a few laps is nothing. Winning a few races in the grand scheme of things doesnt mean a lot at the moment. Championships are what teams want, and Mikes championship scorecard = 0

As for injuries, any real racer has been knocked at some point. broken a bone or ridden over.. Mikes had like what two injuries his entire career? Guess I'm like the 00.001% percent of people who still ride after injury.. Ow no, wait. Every rider does!! Wink

It is NOT physical. Jesus. Bunch of couch jockies are so clueless.

He needs to do what RV does so well. The announcers even talked about it last night. He needs to learn to ride WITHOUT emotion. Sadly, I don't think he is able to. Riding with/without emotion is part of a person's personality and therefore, not likely to change.

He could work on it though. His inability in the whoops is also not related to how many crunches he does or does not do. It is a mental thing. Not sure what has him messed up in those but he really needs to figure that out if he wants to return to the podium.

Still, a very talented rider and is working his butt off out there. He wants it and he is doing most things correctly. Amazing what a difference tiny things can make at the top level of this sport.

Hmmmm. Interesting. Perhaps the problem is that his ass is putting such a squeeze on his head because YOURS IS RIGHT UP THERE BESIDE IT! IF you are an Alessi fan, that's fine. You have that right. I actually felt pretty bad for him the year he broke his kneecap, because it was looking like it was going to be his championship year. Then he goes to KTM and semms to go backwards speed wise. Unfortunate for him. I'm not a fan, but he has made some boner moves in his career. It happens. I'll give him credit for still trying. Sadly his "Own Team" debut didn't have the same shining brilliance as Chad Reeds did last year. He has only himself to blame.
Injuries to quit over? I've torn both ACLs and shredded the ligaments and tendons in both ankles. Broken both wrists at the same time shorting a double, a concussion, cracked sternum and separated shoulder and I still ride. At 49 years old. So perhaps having more facts before you pipe off would do you well. As for you, knobstroker101, pehaps you could go engage in self gratification in front of a full length mirrior. Because your post shows that's what your style is, and the outcome would be the same.

When you tore both ACLs and shredded the ligaments and tendons in both ankles, broken both wrists at the same time shorting a double, a concussion, cracked sternum and separated shoulder - how long did you hold off Ryan Dungey?

I'd call his injuries just run of the mill occupational hazzards,It's not like you can compare them to what Pourcel has gone through.

Alessi is indeed a 4-7 placed guy, anyone who thought the Katoom held him back last year has to be kidding too,I think he will be the same,if not a notch down next season,he'd get eaten alive if he tried his hand in Europe again too,I quite like the guy but I think his best days are over and when that starts happening, the frustration starts to set in

It's painfully obvious you talk way more than you ride. you'd probably try to post someone else up and then proceed to pose like it;s yourself. Name any premier motocross track in so cal and give me the time and date. Better yet come out for a local motocross race and I'll enter the beginner class with you and then, tool your ass ! Excuse maker. Have fun spooning tonight with Knobbybrain.

He just got is new bike and is trying to sort shit out, he gives it his all for the love of the sport. Crashes his ass off casing a screwed up piece of track and still comes out with a decent showing, i'll always be a fan and don't have any doubt that he can still run up front. You guys need to lay off him or I will come to your house and smash your computers...

I am not an Allessi fan, I like Jeff but Mike I never really cared for....but I was starting too since he was going out on his own and back on a Suzuki and seemed to be on the right path. But after lastnights episode I lost what little respect I had for that clown. I was in awe watching that last race lastnight, he was riding like a complete idiot and then getting pissed at Dungey, flipping him off, etc..... what a chump!
Those are my exact thoughts.

I sense that he (Mike) needs more joy in his life. A lighthearted attitude really unburdens a person.

my opinion: it's not his fitness. I think it just takes absolutely everything he has to run the pace of Dungey and Villopto, just a few laps (he actually made a pass on RV last night). Maybe it even requires him to ride a little bit over his head to be close to that pace. Once they pass him, it seems to totally take all the wind out of his sails and he goes back to his normal pace. Maybe he gets discouraged and down on himself when he gets passed, who knows?

Also, Gossiler (sp) said Mike really doesn't know how to set up a bike: he just hops on and hauls ass. That may have worked well in the past, but in today's generation, especially in the 450 class, bike set up (suspension) seems to be absolutely crucial in order to run at the top. If a rider doesn't have the knowledge to diagnosis the issues of his bike, or ability express it clearly to his or her mechanic, so they can make adjustment, it can severely hold them back. Maybe back in the day the best rider could win on a very poor set up, but with the level of progression the sport is currently at, it takes both a talented rider and a dialed set up.

You obviously know what it's like to ride injured with the best in the world. I think I'll just default to your judgement; he should've sucked it up and stayed up front.

solution;alden baker comes to mind.
also, slim down a bit.all about that strength to weight ratio .plus baker may put alessi in a better mind set.
my2 cents for what its worth.
I told you guys before. He needs to work on his technique in SX and his corner speed. I think that part of his corner speed issue is bike setup, but that's just MHO.

Wow. Between yours, knobstrokers AND Mikes head, Alessis ass must be more crowded than the colon of the Gay Pride Parade Marshall at the after party gang bang. Not a fucking clue. Alessis problem is that he doesn't have the speed or mentality to run the pace, but uses his starting ability to be a fucking pain in the ASS to the other riders. The shit he pulls last night and you call that "holding off"? How about "roadblocking". That wasn't ANY kind of racing in my books. He's lucky that WAS Dungey, because a rider who was more aggressive would have parked him in the bleachers. With any kind of luck, right into you and your bowl of tofu faux popcorn. Get a grip, and take a look again at the footage. Unless all you can see is digestive tract. Be a fan all you want. Just try and see his antics for what they were. Pure fucking bullshit.

I'm just calling out 2 individuals on this board, I never claimed to be fast, But i am claiming they are slow. I posted the vid to call the kooks out, Yea it's me, I'm 45 years old, and i do ride alot. If you read knobbybrain's original post calling everyone out, it was in rebuttal to that.
