Time is an arbitrary based on speed of particle flow. Ever notice in movies when they want to show time stopping they show everything stopping? Or when they want to show time speeding up they show all of the particles speeding up. Or ever notice as you age time seems to "fly by"? It is because we are moving at a slower rate personally. Time for an 80 year old is a different experience than a 5 year old. It is the same time just a different "apparency" or experience.

If time travel is possible, by its own nature, it has always existed.

If humans will one day be capable of traveling in time, we already are capable.

If, in the future, someone has figured out how to travel in time, we will have known about it today.

Did I cover every possible tense in that last sentence?

since light takes time to travel, things are happening before we see them. but by milliseconds. so technically even if you could travel faster than the speed of light, wouldnt you only be a few milliseconds into the future?
they say the guy on the space station is like 24 hours ahead of use or something i think.

Since there are planets that are literally "light years away", they truly are years ahead. As silly as this sounds, if a human were capable of going to a far out planet and somehow view Earth from that planet, they would be looking at Earth years before the time they are truly at on the planet. Very hard to explain but its the best i can do off the top of my head without doing the extra reading right now haha

That's exactly right.

So, theoretically, if you could go faster than the speed of light, you could get to a distant planet before what you could observe from your original vantage point has happened.

So, if you got there in less time than it took what you could observe to reach your original vantage point, and came back just as fast, you should be able to wish yourself a safe trip before you left.

Unfortunately, this only applies to what you can observe, not your physical being.

Maybe people in the future have already figured out how to travel into the past; however, perhaps they cannot interact with, or be seen, by people in the past in order that the future isn't somehow changed and/or compromised.

This would make sense with my last post about basing time travel on the speed of light and only being able to observe the future.

But maybe the people of the future have set a moratorium on what periods of history they can visit.

dont you mean time travel into the past ? as superfan pointed out , time travel into the future is possible with our current understanding of physics . the results of that neutrino experiment might change that too though .... as spock would say ... fascinating .

i propose that for their next experiment , antipodean and geezer flush their toliets at the same time and establish a stabile worm hole . then jump in simutaneously and meet in the middle . which would be hell i guess ... or big lenny's place .
