yes but that wont take much cause JMB a one year wonder over here. I think Roczen be at least a 2 year wonder unless he keeps crashing in SX.
Dude, I hope you're kidding about JMB. A 1-year wonder? I suppose you can look at it that way. No American ever won all three major titles in one year but Bayle did. If he wasn't mercilessly booed by xenophobic Americans, JMB may have stayed in the U.S. a little longer and won several more titles. I was at several races where every time he came around to a certain section of the track JMB was booed by drunk, idiots. It was disgusting and really made me ashamed of being an American.

I can tell that you're not from that era. Bayle was totally dominant. Some of the things Bayle was doing was more advanced than anyone else was doing. For example, JMB would preload the rearend to get more drive coming out of turns (McGrath copied that, Hannah said so), he would stay low on jumps without having to scrub, and he had unbelievable throttle control ... the guy was so advanced it was ridiculous.

Haha. McGrath and Ricky came after JMB took his ball and went road racing. The biggest since JMB? Too funny.
What I'm sure he meant was the biggest Euro in America ... and I wouldn't associate McGrath and MX as the biggest (definitely SX). Ricky, yes absolutely. McGrath no.

What gets me is that while McGrath is a great rider he really dominated in a watered down era. It's not his fault since one can only race those who line up at the starting gate. I like McGrath but I think he would be the first to admit that his era wasn't one of the strongest. Take a look at this last season, how many potential championship contenders were there? Five legitimate contenders. Did McGrath have that many to contend with? Not even close.

Nothing against the guys that are racing today becasue they have more talent and drive then I can even imagine but to say that McGrath's time was watered down is BS. Like you said you have to race with who lines up. I am not a bubba fan but I do believe that if Bubba would have stayed and rode the nationals and kept on it in supercross then we would still be having a one man main event. It is all about confidence and believing that you can do it. McGrath had EVERY rider that he lined up against convinced that they were racing for second. Because bubba decided to lay off of it in nationals and he got hurt in supercross he allowed the other riders to believe that he was beatable. They believed that they could win. Once that confidence comes so does the speed and the drive. Look at Reed. He is a perfect example of that. I am not a Reed fan but when he thinks he can and should win the guy goes fast. McGrath had every one beat mentally and speed wise. That's why it seemed that the era was "watered down."

We win every year we go and non Americans still talk shit. They have nothing to look forward to over the winter because the GP racers aren't talented enough to race supercross.

There is a sand track in Malaga, just were the airport is. It is almost in the beach, so you can imagine wich kind of sand it is, but I do not know if the still train there because there are some houses very near so, when there are a lot of bikes, some neighbours call the police and you have to leave...

I is cool you want to live here, nice place; and now is a good time to buy because with the crisis prices are not so high. If you are really interested, let me know if I can help you, I am a Technical Architect (dont know the equivalent there because is quiet different between countries) so I am kind of into the bussines.

I agree with you fully about the confidence theory but McGrath's era was indeed watered down. During his reign name the Hall of Famers he beat. Most were on the decline (Stanton, Bradshaw) and he raced RC at the tail end of his career. Emig was really MC's only competition (unless you're counting Huffman). Some guys would step and win once in a awhile but really there wasn't 5 guys like today who could legitimately win a championship. Look at RJ's and Wardy's era ... you have Bailey, Ward, O'Mara, RJ, Lechien ... that era was stacked. Sorry, I just don't see that with MC's era. No doubt he's a great champion and probably would have won anyway but I don't think he would have been as dominant.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

No excuses, Roczen is a good rider. He is a top five rider in the West coast SX lites class, and that is pretty good for a 17 year old, though he had a hard time with Tomac.

We have not seen Herling race here but I am sure he is within the top 10.

This thread is further evidence that WARM Beer is BAD for you.

Fact: Roczen appears to be amongst, and at times..."Is", the Fastest in the World.

Fact: Our guys can FALL DOWN on Race-Day, ride bikes that AREN'T their "Regular Bikes", drive really Shitty Rental Cars to mediocre practice tracks and Still Whoop the World's ASS at the MX de Nations!

AKA, Business as Usual!

Fact: Ice Cold Tequila will be avail. to all you hallucinating Euro's at the next MXoN to attempt to help prevent these crazy notions you seem to have while "Drying Out".

Can we just get one thing straight here - Geoff suggested Roczen 'might' be the best rider in the world and ONE other person said they almost agreed with him.

These are the views of just TWO people.

First, you are from another country, you don't even know what a holeshot is because your first language is not English. Let me educate you.
Holeshot is a term in motocross that was stolen from drag racing. This is clearly documented. The hole is behind the start line. This is where the term "first out of the hole" comes from, not some imaginary line somewhere around the first turn, but behind the starting gate or line.

Reference NHRA glossary: .
Once a driver commits a red-light foul (also known as ‘redlighting’), the other driver can also commit a foul start by leaving the line too early but still win, having left later. Should both drivers leave after the green light illuminates, the one leaving first is said to have a "holeshot advantage".

The winner is the first vehicle to cross the finish line (and therefore the driver with the lowest total reaction time + elapsed time). The elapsed time is a measure of performance only; it does not necessarily determine the winner. Because elapsed time does not include reaction time and each lane is timed individually, a car with a slower elapsed time can actually win if that driver's holeshot advantage exceeds the elapsed time difference. This is known as a "holeshot win"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drag_racing

So let me get this straight, I make a statement of fact that Roczen is a top 5 rider in SX West Coast, and you guys call me out in an effort to show me up with some bogus comment about me not using an urban slang.. no excuse me.., a hillbilly slang term from a hillbilly sport stolen from another hillbilly sports hillbilly slang terms correctly?. Is that all you guys have in the tank? Oh Snap.

You go boy. LOL
