I am assuming Reed's sponsorship deals are signed, sealed, and delivered for 2012 as he has been back in Aus for this past week and plans to stay for 5 weeks total. I cannot imagine he would bail out halfway through any negotiation, that would make no sense...

What makes you think that he negotiates each deal personally in person himself? lol
Papers can get faxed, others can negotiate for him...like Team manager or agents etc.
They are just a phone call ,skype message or fax away.

Also,I'm sure Dave is working his ass off if he is still in Reeds corner.
Rumor has it, that guy is a machine.

CRtwotwo Chad Reed
“@hokes79: @CRtwotwo does you being in oz mean deals are done?”I wish

He also may not be just negotiating with USA companies.... Wink

What happened to that Supercross series in OZ? Is it still going on?

its still going but barely, after Reed pulled out last year the series lost a bit of interest, its been dropped to 5 races this year in regional areas instead of the bigger cities of Sydney, Melbourne etc!
Plus one of the companies that GAS own went bankrupt! Its a real pity as it could have been huge, being the offseason in the US and Europe but it just hasnt worked yet!

After the first and second year it was looking awesome but I think they may of went to big to early. IMO I think they should go back to the "standard" American formats of 8 lap heats, 20 laps mains etc. and that might attract more American riders over here hopefully as it suits what they'll be racing. Still, it beats being in the Entertainment Centre!

last year they promised RV and MA, RV was out with injury and i cant remember if MA showed up or not. The formats they use are ment to be for the fans but i think they suck. it turns into an exhibition instead of a proper series

I don't think Matt has ever shown his true potential in the US, he usually comes in injured or injures himself early in the season..... If he can finally stay on the thing it should be interesting to see how he goes. oops supposed to be in the JDR thread.

MA showed up for a few rounds, didn't go to well and went back to the states. They promised Stewart to didn't they, last year or the year before that?

they have promised a few big names over the years. i think windham may have been offered one year as well. formats such as a "knockout" or team relay are just stupid for a series. having 2 bikes racing on the track at once is not interesting, if one falls its all over.

The formats they have been using here in Aus for Super X are fantastic imo. It never gets boring. It was so great to see Reed / Windham / Hanson have to really lay it down when they didn`t get a great start, there was no time to relax.

Huge fan of those formats for Aus myself. Looking forward to this years series.

Formats in Aus Supercross are a joke, how hard is it to just run a 15 and 20 lap main?? The riders hate it, and you can't tell me they're bringing in any extra fans..

Even Motocross, I have no idea why they decided to go away from the 2 x 30 minute motos. If something's worked great for years, why change it?
