Service Honda's are great bikes for normal riders,, but the frame flex that was designed around a four stroke engine being in there..makes it unridable at that level. Chris Blose tried riding one at Mammoth and it was all over the place.. When factories are making motor mounts 1mm thinner and riders are noticing a difference, putting in a 2-stroke engine in replace of the the engine it came with, which by itself is designed as an integral piece of the frame is moronic. So at the very least you are stuck with boring out a 250cc that is 6 years old in design... or a ktm. To what? 280? ....why the fuck would any pro who is doing this for a living decide to do that? Remember MOST of the R&D budget is in NEW FRAME/CHASSIS design. It the trickiest, and hardest thing to get right.

Why does anyone get upset over a 2 stroke thread, or any other thread? There are plenty of threads I don't click on, if I find the title does not interest me. If you don't like JS , 2 stroke, four stroke, JLaw, whatever, just move on to the next thread and save the heartburn.

That's because Agent717 is really 500guy's brother.
Whether anyone rides a 2-stroke in the race or not doesn't really matter, but they should have the option to ride a competitive one if they want to. Fortunately, the lady from Feld was very nice and answered my questions very professionally. So, even though the announcement lists the 2-stroke up to 250cc, we know this is not the case, and was probably not meant to intentionally limit the bikes. So, I feel that it's settled.

This cracks me up, because its so true. The bickering and fighting of 2 stroke vs 4 stroke is long overdue to be put at rest. If you happen to like 2 strokes, buy 2 strokes...save all that money and simply have fun. If you want to race competively and stay current then go 4 stroke. I personally love both equally for different reasons.

You notice a 2008 CRF in my avatar right beside an 04 KX 500 along side 90's model 2 stoke yamaha's and a 4 stroke honda 50...

Just love to ride!!!
