Actually it isn't...they are keeping the same biz name.
So the "&" stays.

Maybe change the & to or? Or what about something totally different like the % sign? That will jack people up.

Or what about L before M?

M - L = M would be cool also.

So did Kranyak send Brooks packing to try and appease Stewart and now had that backfire by having the rider bail out of his contract with the team?

Sure sounds like that could be a possibility.
Maybe more then just a rider backed out also, things can go both ways.

MC & LB's new team....wonder if it will have a familiar casino sponsorship?

Wasn't L&M (Larry B.) also the one who brought Nike into the sport back in 2006 for the 07 season (Reed & Ramsey)?

Im so confused by this interview

"...which I’m very proud of. We’re taking the same team that we won those championships with into the 2012 season. We’ve got a great team, we’ve got a great facility, and all of our employees are intact. We’re going to move forward and put out a good effort for 2012."

Same team, except for the manager, Larry. The star rider, Stewart. The biggest sponsors, Yamaha/Redbull/San Manuel.
They have NO riders signed, NO sponsors, No manufacturers, and they are going to be a big impact in 2012? They have 3 months to get everything done, seems odd.

Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Can you feel the tension? I can! I can feel it... down in my plums. They're getting a nice bluish hue, gettin' ready to take 'em to the farmer's market

It will be interesting to see how all of this shakes out. "Issues" can result in lawsuits.

Apparently San Manuel's contract with the team ended at the finish of this season, so San Man is free to go where it wants.

Yamaha's deal with JS was thru next year, so unless some large $$$ changes hands in Yamaha's direction, he will be on blue (although somewhere else).

I'm pretty certain Stewart is done with Yamaha.
Report's are he has been riding a Suzuki for a while now....
Possibly JGR Suzuki or Honda for 2012.....is what the rumor mill is/has been saying.

Is it just me or do his answers sound a lot like James' answers? Maybe James isn't the only one to blame for not being out there.

"I’d just like to put it out there that we’re going to make every attempt to go racing. We have what I believe to be the best team in the sport"

"That could happen, but at this point I’m inclined to say it’s just going to be 450s. You never know..."

"For 2012, we don’t have anything concrete."

If it is certain that he is off Yamaha for '12, a "financial accomodation" sufficient to have Yamaha say "Goodbye" with a smile rather than a summons and complaint has been reached.

I have some trepidations about ever seeing JGR running a Suzuki or a Honda. The JGR MX team is heavily linked with Toyota. Toyota and Yamaha have had a long and multi-faceted relationship (for ex., Yamaha builds massive numbers of motors for Toyota cars). Some in this thread have said that Toyota feels no threat from Suzuki in the car market. That may be true (but clearly is not true with Honda). That said, the sales numbers are not the only part of the story.

Anyone who has dealt with the Japanese wheeled vehicle mfgrs knows they value loyalty and relationships. That long and ongoing relationship that Toyota and Yamaha share I believe bars seeing the JGR team on Suzuki's (or Honda's).

JS may well be on a Suzuki, but if so I think it will be his own team or another satellite team.

So it sounds like LB didn't have much of a financial stake (if any) in the team and in the end didn't have much to say about things.
9/28/2011 2:11pm
I've said this a billion times- but I did an interview with someone at the San Manuel tribe years ago and they told me the reason they only do Supercross is because they wanted to reach urban youth at the Boys and Girls Clubs, and that the nationals did not reach that type of person.
I've never heard anybody from the team ever say that...I am not sure why.
It sure would have halted a lot of talk.

It seems like in this sport the teams go to great lengths to make riders/racers happy in a sense when they want to land someone. It is also a game of musical chairs for some riders and teams alike (as to who goes where or what team ends up on what color).

As for JGR, they have been around for a little while now and I would assume they want a proven big bike championship contender in their corner.
I know Millsaps deal was 2 years with them and the second year was optional for both sides.
Davi did however say he wanted to stay, not sure what JGR's decision was with that.
Brayton their second rider has gone to Honda for 2012.
It has also been no secret that James was not all that happy with the Yamaha 450.
James also has a personal sponsor with Red Bull, and JGR is Muscle Milk sponsored.

When you take all into consideration.....there is no telling how far a Team like JGR is willing to bend to land a rider like JS7.

On a side note....
Someone threw out a cast the other day saying: "Team Home Depot, Two Two Motorsports,JSE" (both 22 & 7 on the same team on Honda's). Smile

It should be interesting to see where he ends up and on what brand.
And most important his results and how it works out for him in the long run.

Seems like from what he said, the problem/issue with Stewart has definitely not been resolved yet.

They also moved on with San Manuel "The casino".
I assume BobbyM was right about what he said a while back regarding the Casino & L&M. Wink

Brooks has moved on also.

A Lites team in 2012,is possible also...He didn't rule it out.
that read left more questions than answers...sheesh

IDK who said Home Depot, but I'd be more inclined to think it is Lowe's on Reeds team. Just going off him talking to and about Jimmie Johnson on Twitter and the hammer and nails tweet Matthes threw out awhile back

Need a sponsor? Come on people, there is so much more $$$ outside of Supercross that is available. Mike is a very intelligent, and well liked guy. He wouldn't come back if he didn't know what he was doing. He does this because he WANTS to not because he NEEDS to. Poor Grasshoppers ...

Second BOLDED name down, READ the last paragraph. Done deal!

Sorry everyone. I just read my reply post and I never bark out like that. I was just over welmed with the amount of people that don't know Mike. That guy is generous and honest and has truly earned his money the old fashioned way. Hard work and working his way up. He has always been very supportive in my events here in our hometown here, so I'm just defending him a bit. Everyone has their own opinion so carry on and I wanted to say sorry for my 1st "Douchebag" reply. LOL Take care-

It sounds like the supercross only deal was Larry Brook's idea....and if his new team is going to be Supercross only I hope they fail and fail miserably. I'm sick and tired of Supercross only teams signing top riders and weakening the nationals.

If they are going to race the full season, then I wish them the best and hope they can get great riders on great equipment.

But back on the interview...so they don't have any major sponsors, no riders, and aren't even sure what brand of dirt scoot they'll be racing (it doesn't sound like yamaha)....Mr. Kranyak has a LOT of work to do in the off season.
Dude what is the point of ignorant assed comments like this one?

You hope they fail miserably?

Do you even like this sport, much less LIVE and BREATHE it like MC/LB?

To say you hope the fail just shows the amount of deuchebaggery you have running through your veins.

I've loved how this biked looks since I saw the first photos of it from A1 in the '11 series.
Kinda reminds me of the Peak Hondas

That interview reminded me A LOT of a quarterly report from a publicly traded company. Sales are way down, the company has lost all its customers...yet the CEO tries to put a positive spin on the events which have transpired and the future of the company going foward.

If L&M was a stock, the share price would have dropped about 50% after that interview. They lost the best(?) sx rider in the world...no bike...no riders...no sponsers...and a bunch of employees to pay that have nothing to do but look for bikes, riders and sponsers.

Best of luck to Mike, hope he pulls through, I would hate to see the sport lose someone so passionate about sx AND mx.

I totally disagree. By the time the series get's rolling he will have all his " ducks in a row " there's not doubt about that. Just like JR Publications wrote, he is very intelligent and doesn't need to be here, he want's to. I just think he isn't letting the cat out of the bag yet because just like other teams nothing is signed sealed and delivered. Hes a VERY professional person and does not want to count the chickens before they hatch.

Good Luck this year Mike K, At least some of us know what your all about.....
