How did you do and what class did you race?

I'd love to hear a local race story...

Anyone?

I guess it's true nobody races here...

I went to Lincoln Trail Motosports in Casey, IL. First time there in about a year, they've made some nice changes to the track. Raced 14-24 and Open B, first moto of 14-24 had nearly all of the Open A class in it, I figured it'd be good practice since I've been wanting to move up soon. Wheelied off the start, made a few mistakes, and they were gone just like that. Was fairly disappointed since I want to race A class, and I've beaten some of them before (at my local track though, and this was theirs, so an even trade off I guess). Learned some new lines though and knew what I had to do to pick my speed up a little bit. First moto of B, started 2nd, passed for the lead When the leader bobbled in a deep rut, led the first lap, then I bobbled at the finish line and he got back by me. I started closing in again, til I stalled it in a tight downhill corner and 3rd got by me. I got going again, gained on 3rd, then lost my front end in a turn and went down Dizzy

2nd moto of 14-24, midpack start and was dicing it up for the first lap, but I had the overall for B class on my mind, so backed it down a notch to save my energy and started trying different lines to see what worked. B class comes around and my nerves are tingling, I started 2nd again, but biffed the 2nd corner and 3rd got by me. Nearly lost the front end a few corners later and lost a couple seconds on the leaders, and started riding pretty damn hard because I wanted that moto win. Guess it was a lil too hard, I'd get close, then blow over my rut or slide out in a slick turn, close in a little bit then do the same, til I finally cross rutted and went down. Angry many swear words were spoken picking my bike up.

For those who haven't been there recently though, GO! The track holds up MUCH better than it used to, was tacky all day, they never touched it through both motos. They run a lot of it in the woods now too.

Raced at Big Air over the weekend for the GLMX series. Went 1-1 in the 30+ B/C class. Rode OK, go into a groove early int he race behind a guy and didnt ride my own pace. Still was good though! Track was sweet, got some rain inthe morning and was perfect all day.

I race the TORN off-road series here in Texas in the Lite expert and Sportsman expert classes. I had to race with a fractured right wrist this weekend since I'm in the points lead in both classes. I know that probably sounds stupid to a bunch of the people on here, but these series mean a lot to me. The track got really rough. I ended up seventh in Sportsman expert on Saturday and fourth in Lite expert on Sunday. I kept the points leads so it wasn't too horrible. The next race is in three weeks, so hopefully my wrist gets a lot better by then.

Not this past weekend because it was an off weekend but the weekend before. I raced the 30+ Novice class. We had 24 people in our moto. I got a second place start in moto 1 and made the pass for the lead in turn 2. I slid out in the 4th turn and got run over by 3 bikes. Unfortunately some guy crashed behind me and they red flagged the race so I got a mulligan. I was feeling pretty beat up. As it turns out, I broke my thumb and have some nasty bruises on my chest and leg. I ended up getting the wholeshot in both my motos and won them but man, was I sore. I have a helmet cam video but I'm sure no one cares that much. Plus, I'm not in the mood to subject myself to the ridicule. The video below is of the guy crashing behind me that caused the red flag. I heard he broke his back, wrist and 3 ribs. I'm the Suzuki in 2nd.

Weekend before I raced at AV Motoplex in Palmdale, went 3-1 in the 50 Intermediates.

This coming weekend I have a big 2 day OTHG National race at Glen Helen. Smile

It was an off weekend for the USRA desert series...no racing for me. But lots of quality time with the wife and kiddos (almost as much fun, but twice as rewarding).

Haven't raced since the 1980's but went to Central Village CT to watch some NESC racing. Good to see some racing and good to see some 2 strokes mixed in and leading.

Does Middleboro run its own series? I remember back in the 1980's the season started and ended there, but skipped the summer. Quoted wrong post - my bad.

They do run their own series and whenever another organization races there, they usually piggy back off the other organization and do a combined event. The race above was a combined event so there were 24 people in my moto! That's a ton for a local New England race. Their website is www.ncscmotocross.com

Thanks. I think the biggest gate at CCC MX was 29 for the 125 C. I remember qualifiers in the 80's (decade not engine, lol). Enjoy and good luck.

The Alessi brothers raced in Reno, NV last weekend along with a couple other pros besides the local Reno boys (who I was told did quite well). Mike was riding a Suzuki and Jeff on his Yamaha. Mike won both Motos.

www.MX775.com Its under the forum section called the Liv Fast cup or something.

Yep, Renner and Tapia raced. Tevin ran out of gas close to the end, and yeah Caleb was hauling. Thanks for the compliments!
