I'm proud of the fact that he went out there and gave it his all. His results may not have reflected his talent, but he still ponied up and represented our country. There's NO shame in that, and Bagget has a bright future in AMA motocross! Thanks, Blake, for going out there and representing the U.S.A. !!!!

In that second moto he was in what like 8th and charging forward then went back to around 31st and charged back up to 17th. Also moto 1 he went down in turn 1 and came up to about 13th before going down and back to 19th and ultimately 17th. I think the kid rode great considering he hit the deck 3 times (possibly more).

That's what I'm saying...he rode his ass off and his results don't reflect his efforts or talent. He kicked everyone's ass in the qualies when he pulled a holeshot. I'm a huge fan...

Even though his results meant nothing his effort is worth respect. Redemption from his Southwick "racing or riding" pit boardfor sure. Any word on why he went down? Not related to Scotlands Wilsons crash right?

I have known Blake and his parents since he was a kid with a mohawk racing in the 85cc class at the US Open. I'll always remember having breakfast that morning with them and my Wife at The Studio Cafe' in the MGM Grand. They've always been pleasant and friendly with me over the years, which is a lot more than I can say for other riders and their families.
I am happy for Blake, I wish him great success.
Some of you may have noticed I don't make a habit of being a "fan" of one rider over another, I only want good racing, no matter who wins, but this year in the 250 class I was conflicted because of my knowing Blake and his parents and Dean Wilson because I have known his mechanic, Paul, since he was knee high to a grasshopper racing 65's at Pepsi/Air Dania (Ft Lauderdale) when I was a flagger and later, announcer, long before starting my own business, so I would have been happy with either outcome.
Despite the inflammatory comments made elsewhere today, which in my opinion were ill-timed and unnecessary, I like Blake and I am glad that even though he had a bad day, he was still able to get it together enough to help Team USA garner the win.

Baggetts mom is really cool, I like Blakes riding style and he is a good racer indeed.

I couldn't agree more.

Anyone that watched the races knows that Baggett had some bad luck today. Cairoli crashed right in front of him in the first turn. He didn’t go down, but was way back in the pack exiting the first turn. He fought his way through the field, getting pelted by 450s on a rocky track. He went down in the mud after it started raining and had a hard time getting his bike started. He must have kicked that thing 15 times before it started. Second moto was more of the same, bad start and a crash. But both motos he got up, put his head down and picked off a ton of riders, half of them on 450s. He never gave up. If he had, Team USA would not have won.

I need to watch the race but he has the speed. He showed it yesterday in qualifying and all year long. Sounds like just a rough day today. It happens.

A teenager on the biggest stage in moto with a 6 year USA win streak on the line. When the deck was stacked against him, he didn't quit or give up. He could have easily rode around in last shaking his wrist or come into the pits holding his ankle or some other lame ass copt out, what would you critics have said about him then? People looked at Tedesco the same way a few years back, Ferry as well, but they have all rode through adversity in the MXdN and helped USA to victory, when backseat drivers talk shit from their couch on how someone else could have done better. These guys can't win, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't, people will find somthing to bitch about, even when they win. You fukin knowitalls go groom your little Johnny to ride moto and call me when he makes team USA, let alone comes home with the Chamberlin trophy that he helped win.

The kid has my respect. He had some bad luck but when he fell down he got back up and kept trying. I'll take that to represent the USA. All I want for anyone representing the USA in competition is to be a good team mate, a respectful competitor and put forth their best effort regardless of the circumstance. Blake Bagget was all of those things plus was admittedly humbled by what the MXdN means to the world. Being humble and admitting you were moved to reconsider your understanding of something is a indication of strong character where I grew up.

Anything can happen in the mud......anything! Blake had a few bad motos for sure.....but he did everything he could to help bring home the gold. I really dig Roczen as well.....but you have to admit , when the dirt was good......Blake went out and smoked everyone with a 10 second lead!

Nobody can argue that. Shit happens in the mud......and that is what happened to Blake.

Did I miss something? Baggett smoked 'em in the qualifying race, battled hard, never giving up after going down and contributed to a USA victory at MXdN. Not to mention, when I checked, he finished fourth overall in MX2 against the best in the world...

He did do great, I am bummed that he went down several times. I think he did a great job.
I think he was under some pressure as well and he held up to it well.

I think he did a great job and has nothing to be ashamed of.
I hope he gets the chance to go next year and do even better.
