Maybe you need a hobby, or a life?

Correct me if I am wrong, but going into the final moto if the USA went 1-2 it didn't matter what France did. After dropping the lowest score's the USA would win. So I guess the USA won.
If CP had won the last race, there would have been a tie, which France would have won (2 moto wins to zero, in that case).

CP suffered a broken goggle lens in the 1st moto and a defective mousse (or mousse installation) in the 3rd.

Pretty bad luck, in my book.

True, but chances are (and history shows) that CP would not have maintained a lead over Dungey for another 25 minutes, and there is no way he would have caught RV.

Regardless, a great day for the French team, but a better one for the USA.

I did not pretend he did, did I ?

On another hand, he's beaten them before, hasn't he ?

No, not a tie. It would have moved the Ryans to 2nd and 3rd, but it also would have moved Paulin to 9th. USA still would have won.

You are absolutely right, I missed that.

I said (and maintain) "fair and square".

Which does not block me from pointing Pourcel's bad luck, because bad luck it was (but it did not change the outcome of the race, although it would have been a more exciting finish).

Let's face reality, Pourcel had nothing for Villo and even if Pourcel had gotten 1st or 2nd, France still would have lost with a score of 30 or 31. It's not like the DNF played that big of a factor in the overall.

USA won hands down even with two bad moto finishes.

USA won because their top 2 guys were able to pull two good motos and no other country was able to do so.

It was fair and square.

That said, you can't know for sure that Pourcel "had nothing" for Villopoto in the 3rd race : he had passed Dungey with ease, was still very close from Villopoto, who got stuck in a corner a few laps later...

In the meantime, Pourcel's rear tire went off the rim (with a mousse, which just NEVER happens in theory), so he went from a potential race leader to a DNF, costing France 11 points (and a potential MXDN win), right there.

Also, to be noted is that both Ryan's have been passed by Roczen at some point, by Bobryshev also (and Dungey by Pourcel, as noted above this).

So, once again, late in the day, before the 3rd moto, USA seemed in great danger... but still pulled it out with a mix of great speed, strong mental and a bit of good fortune.

In any sport, that's what separate the "Best" from the "Good".
it looked like dungey just let pourcel by, he didnt even try to shut the door and he could have easily. i think he knew he had pourcel covered fitness wise and we would have seen that at some point. now carioli has some fitness and speed, its just too bad tony had a bad day because i think hes the only one who really could have done something as by what we saw saturday. oi wonder if paulin and searle came back to the us if they would do better now

I was mislead just like you, but then I did some research and found out that only about 10% of US debt is owned by China.

props to the americans to keep it together as a team and work for the goal......and i saw some early critics to roger d for not being american...!!!!!!!!!
but the other countries showed great young racers that can take on the best anytime......roczen, herlings, searle, paulin, roelants, etc, earned respect from the americans and since america has a bunch of young guns also......this level or better of motocross racing is sured for the future......
the french went in the last moto needing a 2º and a 4º, if usa got a 1º and a 3º.......pourcell crashed, they were already hurting with his 11º, and with his crash paulin just lost it and cruised to the finish.......so usa wont it clear, they got the 1º and 2º to kill it.........its not as easy as it was looking until today morning.......but its well deserved......

p.s. i really likes to see the teamwork between the ryans....classy !!!!...and the hats thing of rv2 on the podim during the national anthem.........respect...!!!!!!!
I agree. Great post sir.

We did win.....but you gotta hand it to team France.....they rode an awesome race and kept us honest all the way through the 3rd moto. We had some luck on our side with no mechanicals , and France had one ( CP's bike ) that sealed the deal for us. Paulin , Musquin ,and Poucel all rode really fast and had us on the ropes there for a while. Great Brittan and team AUS also put in one hell of a ride. Along with other riders like Roczen........it was one hell of a race!

All in all.....I was cheering for our guys. But it was an awesome sight to see all the USA series riders do so well. And that's not taking anything away from the GP riders......a lot of those guys can haul the mail on a bike!

I have a clue that your a loser that sits behind a keyboard and talks shit because you think your special since you have a high post count and happen to know a few industry folks.

I don't post much but your fat ass drives me crazy, your not special and you aren't as cool as you think you are.

Feel free to respond something to make me look stupid, we all know it's coming.

I wish GuyB would clip your fat ass, there might be a lot more good discussions on here once in awhile.

France lost today but the US also Won. When you go 1-2 in the final moto, you won no matter what else happened. When you fold under pressure and pull off in the last moto, you lost. Both happened today.
