He carries speed, lots, like he does not let off for jumps. At all. Just scrubs. Don't know what his plans are but I hope he hits up west SX next year. Crazy not to. I'm sure he can get Mitch's best shit. Kid's super fast.

He is going pretty good Stephen. I rode with him up at Burnt ridge a couple months ago. He was scrubbing a bunch of stuff up there , but not quite that hard ( from what i saw ) Tyler is definitely fast , but I don't think he really took it all that serious until just a couple years ago. He was moving around the track at a pretty good speed. Like faster INT - slower , mid pack pro I think. He definitely likes to move around on the bike alot.... lotsa body english.

BTW Stephen.....I'm really glad to hear that you are doing better man! If you are getting up with some help and using a walker after only a year....that is pretty amazing! I know your injuries were really severe......so please keep working your ass off1 Love to see you back on a bike again one day.

I think it's overrated myself. There's no doubt that the very best can use it to their advantage but it's not the foundation of going fast.

I have perfected a new scrub technique I learned from Ronny Mac. It works as good as a Bubba scrub, but uses much less energy. As you come up to the face of the jump, stand as tall as possible. As you go up the face absorb the jumps energy in your legs, timing it so your butt comes down on the seat just after the rear wheel leaves the ground. This will knock the bike down and give you a low trajectory, kind of opposite of a seat bounce. For a little style, bow your legs out as you're absorbing the jumps energy and throw a little butt whip before you land. When done right you'll have everyone watching you and pointing you out to their friends at the track.

Here at Budds Creek, Randel Everett used to scrub Henry's Hill with Bubba-like precesion. I wish I had a picture of it, but he is probably one of the best I've seen here locally. I haven't seen him scrub much at other tracks but he has got Budds down pat!!

Speaking of "scrub" pictures.....does anyone have a picture of that guy ( I think he was from overseas? ) of him scrubbing in a grass field jump? I think he was on a Honda , wearing a white helmet , had orange in his gear ( really bright gear setup ). The damn bike was almost laying flat on the ground and one of the coolest scrub pictures I had ever seen. A guy posted it on this board like last year I think?

As long as you're hitting the jump faster than normal, getting back on the ground quickly, and keeping your momentum, then it's a valuable scrub. People don't realize that, you don't scrub speed you scrub height. If you notice that picture of me gooning it, I'm a few inches off the ground and the takeoff is out of the picture. Pretty low when you look at it height wise, yeah it looks goony but where is your scrub, peelout? I've heard you're actually pretty quick, maybe even raced Pro but as of right now that's all talk.
