its $200 bucks for a pro to ride, if he gets like a 30th overall he gets $600 bucks then minus his entry fee of $200 there at $400 bucks for riding in the best mx class in the world while $40,000 fans x $35 = 1,575,000.. I would say its a pretty fair game lol How does a pro suppose to drive on $400 bucks across the country and be taxed? Wink

Racers are the bitches of the sport if your not a top guy, Its a steep slide down hill compared to the top racers, No 1 makes millions no 20 goes broke, Of course NPG makes nothing or loses money.

not if you add the price to get to the track, pay parking, and sign up... Be lucky to break even.

Yeah...it's all profit, there's no expense putting together a national.

If you earn an income, you get taxed, the manner in which you chose to earn said "income" is up to you.

There is not one Pro racer, entered in the Motocross series, that relies solely on purse money. NOT ONE !

The 40, that make the format, get at least $410.00 (or about) the ones that don't qualify, get nothing. That's why they work 9-5 jobs during the week, or have outside help.

The last guy to make the 40 man gate @ Glen Helen. was # 184 Dennis Stapleton. He works at MDK and is a test rider for MXA.

Wouldn't it be the responsibility of the racer to claim taxes at the end of the year or quarterly if they choose?

When you pay a contractor for a service do you tax that pay?

Why would I take out their taxes?
Is he saying the AMA or the track is taking out the taxes?
I didn't see that, can you show me where he says the track is taking out the taxes?

Paying taxes stinks but that's the way it is. That is the only variable that is not in the control of the series.
