It's official:

Frossard is out:

Yamaha Press release:

Frossard to miss Motocross of Nations
Monster Energy Yamaha have gone through a whirlwind of emotions in the last twenty-four hours with the maiden MX1-GP victory of Gautier Paulin in the Grand Prix of Italy yesterday and the news that Steven Frossard has finished his first season in the FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship with an excellent second position on the YZ450FM. Unfortunately Frossard underwent a scan on his chest today (Monday 12th September) and the air bubble in his lungs that caused an infection and forced the Frenchman to sit out the final meeting of the season at Fermo is still present.

The 24 year old winner of 2011 French and Swedish Grands Prix was advised that to compete this weekend would pose a health risk and therefore has to withdraw from representing his country in the MX1 class of the 65th Motocross of Nations on home soil at St Jean D’Angely.

Monster Energy Yamaha will still count on the talents of Paulin for France, and fellow Monster Energy rider Carlos Campano is entered for Spain. Arnaud Tonus rides for Switzerland on behalf of Bike it Cosworth Wild Wolf Yamaha.

I think if France were to pick Boog over Pourcel there would be an uproar. It would probably cause a civil war in France!

Ok maybe not, but if there serious about winning this thing they know who they gotta go with. After losing 2 National championships that went down to the wire, and then the fiasco that was this year, winning the MXdN over Team USA in France no doubt.. Wow.

It's like the Karate Kid with dirt bikes.

I'm sorry to all the Americans, when RC was riding for ya I was as pro American as a Euro could get, but as RC said when he left Honda, times change, and someones gotta stop that streak! Tongue

The carnage there's been in MX1 this year is unbelievable. There's been way too many battered bodies this season

And by the way, that's never been how I roll. If someone is fast enough to beat the Ryans straight up, then they will have earned the accolades of all, no matter the nationality.

They are all moto warriors in the end.

Same here bro, I just want certain Americans to take Euro riders seriously, AC is the real deal yet hardly anyone on that side of the pond rates him ya know and he's a 5 time world champ! It's fustrating. I respect the hell out of any pro rider (apart from Dedyker - I hate that dude) but I just want people to look at AC like he deserves to be looked at.

You would be surprised at how many people over here love that guy, me included. The problem is that we dont have anyone to judge him side by side with and that i think is why he isnt spoken about like the legend that he is?

and if someone is good enough to beat the world champion in the world championship... then they deserve to be called the best in the world.

All those guys are a similar level no matter what their nationality especially in a one off race. Caroli beat the two ryans before as has Pourcel, so show them some respect.

Man I've been a RV fan since he went 2-2 at Glen Helen in 05, I got all the respect in the world for both Ryans.

Would've been great to see how Frossard stacked up against the Ryans! Roll on 2012...

Pourcel has said is Fossard isn't going to ride ( which we know hes not now ) that if he is asked he won't give an answer intill Tuesday !
He should be biting someone's hand off to get to ride not having 2 days to think about it !

Post a reply to: So we might see Pourcel at the MXdN afterall.
