How many young kids read this?
I wear one. I broke three vertebras in my neck once and i rather have a hurt shoulder than end up in a wheel chair............
I think we have heard a LOT of stories in these forums that talk about how glad they wear to wear one.

Is there any particular reason why you stopped wearing the Leatt Brace?
I never felt comfortable wearing it. A lot of guys were hurting their shoulders because of the brace… There was nothing proven that shows it actually works, you know? I think you either believe in it and you wear it, or you don't believe in it and you don't wear it.

More comfort etc.

I commented to my friend at the race on how many riders were not wearing them. But then the majority of Pro racers would rather be "protected" by a lycra jersey than a hard shell plastic protector.
After reading and seeing so many stories how riders have cracked their Leatt's and walked away I find it amazing that the top guys (who get them for free) prefer not to.
I never felt comfortable wearing knee braces so I went back to knee cups .
is there any proof that googles actually work?
is there any proof knee braces work?
i doubt there is any "proof" but it seems obvious!
If you brace something, something else will fail (or break). Pretty much self explanatory. And I think its a little odd that everyone that falls on their head claims the leatt brace saved their lives, when a few years ago, people were still falling on their head and living and walking away from it. Its a dangerous sport, prepare as YOU SEE FIT.
Not sure if the naysayers have seen Mom35 (Is she the one) who posted cracked Leatt pics of her son's Leatt and is CONVINCED it saved him from a more severe injury. Many more stories like that.
JYZ566, Do you wear chest/back protector or are you like Nerd who is convinced they do more harm than good?
Of course NOTHING will ever be 100% guaranteed from injury in a dangerous sport like moto, but I sure as hell am going to wear as much as possible cuz the slick looking Lycra jersey just isn't enough!
Dale Earnhardt (RIP) died from snapping his brain stem. It was right around the time the Hans device was being introduced in Nascar before it became mandatory. He refused to wear one because he was old school and even liked his belts looser then most. Could a Hans have saved him?
Who knows for sure but I like my chances with more PROTECTION.
Ask Jimmy Weinert about knee guards...
IMO, Tedesco's answer was 100% correct.
Pit Row
did you miss this jonjon?....kawboy "i doubt there is any "proof" but it seems obvious!"
it's just all the kids look up to the Pro's and they see them wearing as little as possible. To me, that ain't cool.....
I think its an intelligent design that could potentially stop a serious spinal injury. If it puts that onto my collarbone or whatever, I feel its an acceptable trade. I have worn one a few times and felt completely comfortable riding with it. So I ordered one up.
so why do you say he is 100% correct?
tedesco has no proof a lot of guys are hurting their shoulders because of the brace.......mx riders have been hurting their shoulders ever since they through a leg over the bike.
I couldn't get used to knee braces either, so I just forced myself to learn how to keep my feet up on the pegs. I don't catch myself with my foot if I'm going to fall, I just fall.
its an obvious the thing has to work in some fashion.
Again, In My Opinion, his answer is 100% correct... I'm not stating anything as fact that requires any proof... IN MY OPINION means exactly that.
