so sad to hear. it always seems like when we have tragic accidents they all happen within a short amount of time. it seems the last few months weve had quite a bit. i myself went through a loss of my brother due to supercross. Isabell's family needs prayer more than ever right now. May God calm their painful hearts in this time... prayers and thoughts to Isabells family and friends... =(

man this is very sad i used to ride and race in the 85 sr class with her and we would go to there track they had all the time its just to sad

I unfortunately don't know her or her family. But my condolences definitely go out to them. That just sucks. I am more confident from this post though, that my daughter, Ysabella, will ride for fun with me, but will not be the "fastest girl racer in the world." like my mind was saying before she was born. I used to imagine training her etc. Now, Every time she gets hurt, my heart just crumbles. I can not even imagine how this family is handling it. I would go completely crazy. So sorry to hear this news.

My heart is with Isabella Koob XO. How many of our loved ones have to be lost to this sport before changes and improvements are made? We as parents of kids who love this sport have to make a stand. It is a dangerous sport, but can it be made safer?ABSOLUTELY!! I never thought when we started this foundation that it wouldn't financially be able to keep up to the needs of injured riders. I raced on the Nebraska MX Series with Isabell. It's always sad to hear about someone in the MX community passing away, but it really hits home when it's someone you raced with.

My condolences to the Koob family. Rest In Peace, Izzy.

What happened to Isabelle is exactly why my son decided to quit racing. He wants to get back into it but I haven't given in yet.

Very well said. tragedy strikes everyday in every form. As a parent of a 9 yr old and 6 yr old, I can't begin to understand the grief that her parents are feeling at this moment. I am sure there are no words to describe it. Life is about making choices and living. To each of us that has a very different meaning. When I read stuff like this my immediate response is to never let my kids ride again, but then I think about how children die playing baseball, hockey, swimming, skiing etc so are we to take away those from our kids as well? I surely do not have the answer as there is no one right one, but hopefully her parents can take some solace in the fact that she did pass doing something that she loved...... RIP

I am sorry but this "you go when it is your time" argument is just about dumbest thing I have ever heard. Using that logic, you could play russian roulette with five shots in the chamber or have your kids play on the interstate. This is a very high risk sport and you can't minimize the fact that your kid can die or be seriously hurt everytime he or now she lines up to the gate.

The start at Ponca could easily be designed better. The inside gates make the start straight an almost obtuse angle and once the inside gate riders get past the big tire the outside riders are sweeping right into them. 50 feet up the track cuts across the start straight and creates ruts, bumps. and lines at a cross angle. After it breaks left, it breaks right, then has a long fast straight. The start could be slowed down and be more technical, safer, and more fun to race.

Mstock you have a right to your opinion but how is reporting on an event using it for personal gain? The news story is how most people on here heard about this tragedy. It's a reporters job to inform people on who she was, rather than just stating a name.

motoxxx599. Thank you for saying that. I was afraid to look at it for the obvious reason. I'm still not going to look at it. I don't want to think about it, although once you know, it's in your mind, and stays with you. Everyone protects life. Laws, rules, traffic, is all to protect life. People have said here that the start there has been dangerous for years and should be changed. I have never been there,but if people are saying it, it should have been changed a long time ago. Track owners have a responsibility to provide a safe track first. Too many terrible tragedies in this sport lately. It's different on bikes. I'm not a NASCAR fan and don't watch it. But you hear that people watch it for the crashes, and I hope that's not true. But,anyone that has been involved in motocross does not want to see any crash at all, ever. The Koob family suffered the most terrible loss today that anyone can. I hope they can get through it. I don't know if I could. Again, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family.
