i think it would be difficult to disagree with that! Be interesting to see what roczen does- should he try to stay with herlings in the sand or does he play it smart and settle for 2nd? joel roelants could get a result there too if he's fully fit. Would like to see big ken get a result in mx1- he knows a thing or too about riding in the sand Smile

i'm hopping to see atleast a podium from rui........
he's on a good mood and sand is his game, that with one or two of his good starts could make it, and if lady luck has his way for a change who knows...!!!!!!!!!!!
its that time of the year where it can only do good on your future and lommel is the place for him to do it.
he deserves it, he's a hard worker.....

Though i may be Kenny's biggest fan, i am really looking fwd to seeing Jeffrey play in the Lommel sandbox and destroy the place! He truly is AMAZING to watch in the sand. This is still one of my fav vids...his bike control in those full on gnar conditions is just incredible:

Michael Leib is there training as well. He is feeling better as each week passes and hopes to get through Lommel and back on some harder pack tracks.

I really hope he gets the Husky dialled......you can see how hard he tries at every GP and they're definitely improving. Looks as though (from the outside) they could do with a few more ponies, but it will come. Are you able to say if he has sorted 2012 with them yet??

As for results....in a perfect world (for the Championship)

Thanks for the kind words. It's taken him a while to get going since he took nearly three months off the bike. His lap times where good at Latvia especially in moto 2. 2012 is up in the air.

how is he getting on with the dutch/ belgian sand tracks? be interesting to hear an american riders point of view on these types of track. Last time we were riding in holland (the week before the valkenswaard gp this year) we saw lupino riding at eersel, but didnt see micheal.
Most interesting thing for me this weekend will be whether roczen is prepared to hang it out and try to run with herlings in the sand- after watching at valkenswaard in april i can honestly say that i've never seen anybody ride the sand like jeffrey! he carries so much momentum everywhere, looks like he's on a different track to everyone else. Definitely the best sand rider in the world at the moment. Ken was impressive at lommel last year, but not as impressive as jeffrey at valkenswaard this year!!!
Would love to see Anstie on the podium- his results havent reflected just how well he's been riding this year, he won't be able to stay with herlings and roczen, but the 3rd step on the podium could be there for the taking (although paulin is improving every gp- and actually won the overall at lierop last year!!! so you cant count him out either!)

mx1 is too hard to predict- cairoli will win if he stays on the bike, he is very good in the sand- you can never count out ramon and de dyker at lommel or lierop- when the track gets rough they will shine. Ramon is amazing to watch in the sand- his line choice is brillant, he sees lines that others dont, and makes it look so easy!!! Anyone in the top 15 in mx1 could end up on the podium!! it really is that close this year- Rui and shaun simpson both spend alot of time riding in the sand, so they could be up there- bobby is on a roll at the minute, nagl is very good in the sand!! loving watching the gps this year- hopfully micheal can have a couple of good rides before the end of the season and secure a ride for 2012, its never easy to come back from and injury Smile

I really like what I've seen and heard from Michael, he seems like a good guy with a great attitude. He's had some shitty luck so far this season but last year he showed me enough to suggest he has a lot of potential, I really hope he perseveres with it over here! Its a shame he cant base himself in England really and race a few British Championship rounds, I think he'd feel more settled and the fans would get behined him like we do Osborne.

I'm thinking of going, got a week end off and I hear it's a pretty good time on Saturday nights all around the track. From what I understand the only way of buying a ticket is at the entrance of the track? Do they ever run out? or is it pretty save to just rock up on sunday and still get tickets?

That's exactly what I thought jamma, get him situated in the UK, a lot more familiar than Italy.

Buying tickets at the gate will be no problem. It is not gonna sell out.
I think 90% of the people buy their ticket at the gate.

And yes indeed. Saturday night beer tent is a great experience if you have not seen one yet.

After racing there last year Michael had planned to live in Belgium for part of this year but circumstances have prevented that from happening. He was also supposed to get to Belgium 2 weeks before the GP but the team was not able to get there till last Friday. He practiced there last Saturday and Sunday. But his practice bike developed a problem and ?. He really wanted to get a lot more time in there but........... I've personally never seen Lommel but from what he says it's more difficult than anything he's ever ridden. Hopefully he'll have a better result there this year but like I said earlier he views the race as a survival exercise and is looking forward to the rest of the series now that he is healthy.

Thats the things with the GPs to be champ you have to be really versatile and fast on every surface. Lommel is great to watch, looking forward to this weekend. It used to be the guys from France, Germany etc were not good in sand either but now they move to Belgium and practice to get good in it... Valentin Teillet talked about the difficulties about doing it, with no friends etc but to be the best in GPs you have to at least be able to top five/six in sand to have chance of winning the title esp when Roczen and Herlings are soo fast in it.

if he could just set up a stock bike and put some hours in....!!!!!!!!
thats why i'm not a husky beliver, those things are too tricky just to run, either you are good with mechanics and have lots of parts or your ridding keeps getting cut short.......i've seen it a bunch of times.......
hope he does enough to stay another year, things can only get better and the experience he's getting is very important for it to work......
