250 A and 450 A is arguably going to be called the "Justin Bogle" class, since he's been so dominant. Open Pro Sport has Kyle Peters, Justin Starling, Jesse Wentland, Zach Freeberg (Last years 250 A champion), Grant Ransdell, Chris Plouffe, Joey Peters, Robbie Reynard, Beau Hudson, Austin Politelli, and many other threats.

Who do you think is going to come out on top? I think Kyle Peters is the favorite, but Starling and Freeberg are both consistent. Chris Plouffe gets good starts and is just as fast as any of the names listed above, and Austin Politelli has also been killing it up in Canada against the Medaglia brothers. I don't think anyone is going to dominate this class, it's wide open.

I'll put an Aussie dollar on Starling.

I'm going to go with Kyle Peters he's put in some solid rides this year

Personally I think Austin Politelli is going to come out on top.

Is that guy named Bell racing it?

He's been beating Bogle at Ponca it seems?

I have a favorite ;-). Hes been training hard and with a new bike he's definately not to be counted out! Its definately a stacked field and last year showed that anything can happen (flat tires and all!)

And by the way Bogle is not in Open Pro Sport...and racing has not started at Ponca until today. Bogle by FAR is the fastest hands down

Learned a long time ago, making ANY predictions about LL's is just plain stupid.

It's a 3 moto format...3 motos...the track is never the same twice for each class.
Mornings are soft or muddy, but smoother. Later day races the track is harder, rougher, slicker and more dusty. Chances are, you will have at least one early and one late moto.
It's stupid hot and muggy
and riders who NEVER HAVE mechanical failures seem to get bitten at LL's

Predicting finishes or winners is just stupid.
Choosing favorites makes more sense, but winners?
Not so much

I wouldnt count Jesse Nelson out. He has the speed and the ability to run with Bogle. Hes had some bad luck in years past and if he can stay on 2 wheels Justin will have his hands full

seems like another rather weak LL class. IMO Bogle is the only one that MAY do anything when he turns pro. But then again look at Jason Anderson...

Bogle was faster than RR a couple years ago... on a 250f vs 450f.
It was great watching them ride together...with RR having the traditional style (elbows up), and Bogle hanging off the back of the bike and scrubbing everything...

sure sounds like it's gonna wind up being a very eventful race to watch! Im not sure which style I like more though. Bogle's style seems to be more "all out" and RR is more "controlled" and calculated. like you said.
Either way good luck to everyone competing!

Dude go on the track with these guys, and then call them weak. They are the future of the sport, give them some respect ! Arm Chair Quarterback.

No Sean. That was a great place when the kids were young but IMHO its very dangerous on big bikes. Joey is set in his transition to the Pros and doesnt need the Ponca notch in his belt to get there.
But it has always been Joeys favorite track though.

Can anyone please explain the difference in qualifications for Open/Pro Sport vs 250 or 450 A?

And while you're at it, what's the deal with having two supermini classes?

Tell me about it. The start there knocked Danny out of LL in 2006 and 2008. Good luck to Joey.

It might sound harsh or rude, but sometimes the truth is. The A and B classes have been full of amazing talent for a few years, it has to die down a little bit sometimes. I dont think bagger is saying he is better then any of these kids, its just that there cant be super stars every single year

I tend to agree with a DIRTY bagger and zookrider62. Last year's class wasn't much talent wise, and I am hoping that this year's class will be a bit better. Anderson was the top guy last year, and he hasn't done much in the pro's. I said that that class was weak last year, and got railed on for saying so, but it proved out. Doesn't look like this year's class will do that much better. Just my opinion.

There is a log jam of talented riders in the 250 class with so little support out there it's difficult to stand out especially if you are not on top notch equipment that is so important in that class. I suspect if some of you stood on the fence at LL and watched all the classes you would shake your head at the speed of these kids and might use a different term than weak to describe them.
