I wonder if the flagger guy fell over the fence or told someone to hold his beer and climbed over?

Broken femur? Damm... he's got to be saying WTF. Will he be back before the SX opener?
I think he damaged his leg this previous time around in late April or early May (can't remember exactly). So he got back into racing after about ~3 months of recovery. I guess it all comes down to how bad the damage is. It's odd they had him strapped down by his legs right on the femur. i would think if it were super bad, they wouldn't have strapped him down around the femur - and the ride on the mule wasn't exactly a smooth, easy ride either. If it's not too bad (but definitely broke), I think he could make it back by SX. He's got ~5 months to recover this time, so it will be close. I know he has to get back into race shape and do a lot of testing. But if he can recover for 4 months, then ride for a month he'll at least be racing in SX. He just needs to settle down, and completely heal up as much as possible.

I'm hopeful that it's not that bad of a break and he'll be back soon. Get better Trey buddy, lots of folks are rooting for ya!

Kehoe confirmed broken femur. damn.
Hmm...I asked Kehoe after the race, and they were awaiting news from the hospital.

Steve.....Buddy of mine just left the pits a few hours ago and Hahn came out talking with one of the Honda Mechanics and said that he thought for sure Trey did indeed re-break the femur. I met and talked to his mom this morning and I was cheering for trey big time today to do well. I'm so bummed right for him......felt sick to my stomach. And BTW , his mom is a super cool lady!

I was the guy in the purple worker shirt and hat standing beside him shortly after the crash. He was one very upset young man, and understandingly so. He gave a thumbs up to the crowd as they drove him away, despite his physical pain and mental anguish.

I feel so sorry for him, hard to believe what happened, I hope he can come back from this mentally as well as physically, two broken femurs in one year has got to be so tough.

At Washougal 2008 he originally broke the femur and got the rod put in. The latest injury was not a full break but he hit hard enough to crack it with the rod still in place. I wonder how many hits can you take to a leg with a rod before they have to remove the rod and just give it lots of time to heal. I am hoping that today is a repeat of the cracking and not a bent rod or worse.
They generally only remove rods if they're bent, but I do know that they can use the existing rod to correct another break, depends how its broke of course but its a huge shame whatever, all the best Trey

Who ever would have thought that Pourcel and Canard, two of the fastest guys last year, would be out of all of it in 2011.

Amazing how fast careers can nose dive in this sport.
