Hey does anyone remember this guy? I know he went back to europe, but while he was in the states he had a few good rides. He rode for factory KTM on 125 and he also rode the 450, before moving over to factory connection in the 125/250 class.
IMO he was one of the most underrated 450 riders. Being a member of the 450 class during RC's reign was tough on everyone, but outdoors he was always near the top 5. What hindered him the most was his bike at least at KTM. It seemed like half of the motos he raced ended with him pushing the bike off of the track. Shortly after moving to factory connection a string of injuries hit him and then he kind of just disappeared. I do remember him riding in the MXoN a few years back, but does anyone know more?

Wasn't his nickname J-Rod?
I used to cheer for him... always liked seeing him do well.

Dont think he was involved in any cartel,he raced a SX in Mexico, and decided to stay one more night, but a gang broke into the house he was staying at and killed everyone inside, im thinking it was mistaken identity.
Joaquim Rodrigues is from Spain and raced the MXGPs before coming over.
As far as where he is now, dont know.

he also races the german sx series in the winter....
his father owns a motoshop, motogarrano, was a long time and multichampion honda team, rui gonçalves also raced for him, but after lack of support from honda changed to aprilia for one year and then quited
he tried to get an aprilia spot in the mxgp but didn't get it,so he joined a honda team for the portuguese sx champoinship and won it, then raced the german sx series where he did good on a local honda team.
2011 he is the main favorite to defend his national sx title about to start (23/7) and has won a preparation race......
You're wrong JRod did some GP's with the Sarholz racing team but injured himself pretty badly on his back
He's still riding in Portugal trying to improve the Championship and always rides in Germany during the winter for the German Supercross Championship.
Take a look at his latest video and enjoy...
