Very sad news. Our family became fans of Josh back in the am days watching Lichtle, Woods and Grey battle it out at all the Florida series. 2002 Mini O Josh put on a hilarious show as he joined in dirty dancing Saturday Night Live style with spoonman. He had everyone laughing like crazy. Josh will be missed.
I remember that, it was very funny. I probably have that footage.

When I told my son about Josh the first thing he remembered was Josh clowning around and having fun for the camera in one of the old A-Stars videos....."I'm Josh Lichtle...I do the doubles".

Very sad day for the MX community.
RIP Josh.

My heart just aches for Josh's parents. My son suffered a life changing injury 6 years ago and we're still coming to grips with that., I can't even imagine the pain of loosing your son.

We spent quite a bit of time at the amateur nationals from 2002 to 2005 watching Josh excel as a racer and entertain everyone he came in contact with with his crazy funny personality....I remember driving with my son into the Mammoth Mountain track on the long gravel road that leads you into the pits, there were 3 racers walking along the side of the road, my son asked me to stop and give them a ride, one of those 3 boys was Josh, he started in with the jokes the moment the door closed and didn't stop till we were in the pits.....will never forget that day

We'll miss you Josh but we will never forget you......

Our sincere condolences to the Lichtle family

Josh was my brother and we will miss him greatly. We are setting up an injury prevention rig that will be at the armature nationals to educate on nutrition health, hydrations, track safety, and mentoring the kids that are trying to make it to the pros. you can help. donations at www.godspeed811.com

RIP Josh! Hopefully we can take something from this tragedy to advance the sport, like NASCAR did when Dale died.
Cool suits are being widely used in auto racing.
And wasn't Chad Reed wearing some type of cooling jacket?
Maybe the cool suit makers can develop something lightweight that could be used in mx.
It could go a long way to help prevent tragedies like this.

Sincere condolences to you and your family from everyone at Wonder Warthog Racing. Josh was a great kid, worked hard, hauled ass and was a joy to have around. Best of luck in your injury prevention efforts...it will be somewhat comforting to know that through his sacrifice and your efforts others may be spared the suffering you've had to endure.
